Getting the exact length of an original?

Hey,

I'm making an animation, and the original video is 0:58. I want my animation to be exactly like that, so I can get the audio to fit. How can I do that? Is there someway to tell how long the length of the animation is from the beginning keyframe wall to the end?

Make your tempo 30, then count every second of ausio. If your audio is 58 seconds long then do 58 x 30 which is only 1740 frames long at a tempo of 30

You just look at the timeline until you are at 1740  frames

You can do this with the tempo of 20, but instead of 58 x 30, you would do 58 x 20.

 

58 x 20 is 1160.

I can't believe I didn't realize I could do that... I thought it had to be the same as the framerate on the audio

When I used to animate, my tempo would be 5 or 10, depending on the animation I was doing. So:

5*58 = 290, and 10*58 = 580.

Keep in mind that the lower your tempo, the easier it is to animate but the more "choppy" your object movement will be. 10-20 should be fine.
