I know it's a lot for you to handle David, with all the suggestions coming in, but I think shadows play a big role in the lighting and shading and basically the quality of the whole animation.

 

I noticed that the shadows don't really fade out and go forever. I found this out when I was animating a cave scene, the shadows became a real distraction in the video.

Decreasing the light range does get rid of the problem, but takes away the effect of the video sometimes.

 

For example. Steve is walking in the cave, holding a torch. As a cinematic shot, a special block is shown 4 blocks in front of him.

 

If you decrease the shadow range, you won't be able to see the block, but if you put the shadows further, the shadow of Steve becomes a riddance to the video.

 

 

Solution: Blurring of the shadow. (Also known as the penumbra of a shadow xD)
