[WIP] Power claw and a IK wire technic.

Recommended Posts

A power claw inspired by Sebastian Yarrik from WarHammer40K. Made fully in ModelBench
This was a challenge to do, given that this universe has a little trouble visualizing things clearly. Yarrik's claw, for example, looks square in one source, and in another it generally has crab fingers.

So I tried to do it using the most similar template. Sharp claws, triangular fingers, a large hydraulic cylinder on top and a LARGE power cord from the power backpack on the back, there was also an exoskeleton, of course, but I don't think I can make a fully working version of it, and without a forest of crutches.

I already said that this claw, like the character itself, is made entirely in ModelBench. Surprisingly, when setting up Inverse kinematics, I could aim the pistons at each other and everything worked, so I didn't have to add extra items in the main program.

As for the wire, it is divided into two parts, by means of Inverse Kinematics, both are aimed at the same object and they are connected in this way. Of course, this does not eliminate the need to move this object, but it is much easier to do than constantly rebuilding manually.

And btw, name of this character: Neogen.

P.S. I plan to create a public model of Sebastian Yarrik. After all, half the work has already been done.

With crab fingers ?

I always saw illustration of him with a squared 3 fingers claw-hand.

Spoiler

Also, by checking the only "official" picture I could find of the Warboss Ugulhard (in a Hammer and Bolter episode) he fought and got his arm from, it's the squared 3 claws one.

Oh yeah, seeing this picture reminded that this minifigure is the first and oldest minifigure representing Yarrick (sold more than 4y ago), they remade him lately.
