is there a difference between .object files and .obj files?

i noticed that .object files are on the list for things i can put in a mine-imator thing so i was experimenting with mineways to get me a .obj files and i noticed right away that it wouldn't work so is there a difference between the two?

.object files are exclusive to Mine-imator, .obj files are mesh files that only run in high-end rendering software (or at least higher than Mine-imator).

Not sure actually how to make .object files.

When you've got an object inside of mineimator selected there's a little save icon under the timeline.
