Is there something wrong with my GUI?

So I saw The Tan James's video and the GUI looked pretty thin. But what it looks like for me is this "blown up" look. Is there something wrong here, designed for 1080p monitors, or was it intended? I really need to know since it's giving me a serious headache.

(I use a 1440x900 monitor)

The Tan James obviously has a higher screen resolution than yours. I don't see how this is "blown up".
