Sprites and Textures

Okay, if you are not familiar with what a sprite is, it's an image in game that is basically a 2D image that will retain the exact same appearance from any and every angle (Unless obstructed by an object)

It's mainly used as extra effects for light sources as well as foliage in trees and other places. This could be a baseline for particles in the near future.

 

Another Idea I had was that Mine-imator needs to upgrade to the new texture format because it gets kind of hard to find textures on the Internet that aren't for the new format these days.

The old format was where most, if not all textures were stored in a file called terrain.png whereas the new format has individual folders for each and every texture. Also the fact that 0.7 and the current version have some conflicting issues and changing to this format could eliminate that issue entirely.
