It depends on a lot of different factors, personally I think true love would be defined by how unselfish it is. If a person had the strength to do what they knew was best for the person, even if it involved never seeing them again then that would be closer to truely loving them. Then again selflessness taken to far can be selfish to so the other side of it is being able to stand on your own without being dependent and to love the person without blindly sacrificing yourself for them even if it's bad for them in the long term. A first love is usually to blind and hopeful to have real depth so time and the process of maturing is important. However the modern world is toxic to true love, it makes everything a lot more complicated.

One of the sad things about war is when it becomes about political gains rather then to protect civilians... The soldiers who go to war and would die to protect their country are still heroic though.

@Emanatronic What she is saying is that there are still bad eggs in the system. People find it irritating to have others come to their door and try to pressure you into a religion. Telling someone 'They are going to hell' is almost the same level of insult as 'Go kill yourself' which is just downright hurtful and is not at all what Christianity stands for. These bad eggs can make Christianity as a whole look bad, and the outlook changes the more often it happens.
On the opposite side of the same coin, if a Nazi does a selfless act for humanity, it doesn't exactly justify anything since they are affiliated with a certain faction.
A bad person in a good place makes a bigger difference than you think. And the louder they shout, the more people can hear. Who chooses to tune in defines the community.

Amethyst_Dragon got a reaction from ÜberKiller in I'd love to get everybody's input on the layout and design of this website, so I can
I think the colors on the drop down menu's don't go with the color sceme at all. I'm assuming this is a WIP since currently the home page and the contact page are blank. Also you might want to add a sideways scrollbar so if people want to make the window smaller they can without it just getting cut off. The image in the background is blurry which I guess is intentional, it's hard to tell what it is.

@LittleLilithGirl My point of view is that natural actions are actions that cause nature to thrive, animals plants and humans evolved to act that way because it means that life on this planet can continue to survive and if nature is truly in balance then life thrives. A tame cat torturing it's prey to death because it's playing/bored isn't natural, in nature another animal could easily steal the meal. And a wild cat probably wouldn't want to waste all that extra energy on a meal that is already caught.(Unless they are teaching their young how to hunt which is natural since it helps their kind to survive.)
Also I'm sorry if I've seemed argumentative, I tend to get annoyed when people talk about how different/inferior/immoral animals are simply because that often leads to people excusing cruel treatment of them(That applies to humans as well actually...). I'm not saying that applies to everyone but I've seen it often enough that it does tend to get on my nerves.

@LittleLilithGirl Cats don't tend to play with their food in the wild unless they are teaching their young how to hunt. It is only in unnatural situations that they regularly torture their prey.
@Ocelot Animals have more morals then humans, animals at least they haven't been ruining the world the way humans have. Animals hunt and kill for food, humans have blown up entire populations of people for stupid political reasons. Humans have completely abandoned their natural way of living and so have become toxic to nature, and toxic to their own kind as well. Naturally humans want their fellow humans to survive, unnaturally they start to want other humans to suffer and die. It is extremely common for the humans of today to inflict suffering and pain on others, bullying is an example of that.

@LittleLilithGirl cats actions are natural except when humans interfere with them. When I say natural I mean how cats naturally act without any human involvement. However animals that humans interfere to much with can act in very unnatural ways and if they are confined to much they can start to go a bit crazy. For example wild cats tend to kill quickly and cleanly since it's practical for their survival. Tame cats tend to play with their food and slowly torture it to death.

@Ethan it's in their blood to chase, catch and kill small animals, what they miss out on learning from their moms is being able to kill cleanly and understanding that hunting is for the purpose of eating.
@Cryotivity It's natural for a cat to kill for food, it's unnatural when they just kill for fun. Also seeing a living being pass on is enough of a reason to feel sad. Especially when it's a small harmless animal that really isn't a threat.
@Mlke That is WAY to young, also if they were around a cat that could hunt they may have learned it from them. My cat actually learned how to hunt from her grandmother.

Amethyst_Dragon got a reaction from Ocelot in Apparently I have Social-Phobia. It means your always shy and embarrassed when in pub
I hope this isn't yet another silly official diagnoses. Being shy isn't a bad thing, feeling socially uncomfortable either means that the person is going through the sometimes awkward process of figuring out how to socialize without making an idiot of themselves(Like if someone was alone for a little to long and decides to change that) or they have some reason for being withdrawn. It also has a lot to do with the kind of people a person is around.
