Particles awkwardly accelerate and slide on the floor

Question

For instance trying to make particles spawn in a wall and hit the floor, bounce a bit and then stay still in the floor (like pieces of destroyed stone would do in real life). It's so annoying to get it right. You have to endlessly tweak multiply and initial speed values + the bounce factor so it looks reasonable for an insane amount of time.
