3D surface and stretch to fit surface [Suggestion]

We have a surface that can be used to make pictures but it would be cool if you just made a item and didn't need to make a whole item sheet. and since it's 2D i would like a 3D option for surfaces

 

other idea was a stretch to fit option, so when you post it, it will stretch the picture to form a square, so if it's a rectangle picture, it will make it a square, which isn't so good cause you need to stretch it yourself, Dunno if this has been asked before

 

but i want this so i dont need to make a item sheet just for one textured item.

I think the "mapped textures" which is planned should fix this.
