  1. The AI-2 - Individual First Aid Kit was intended for issue to Soviet civilians in the event of war. It was introduced in the late 60s and produced up to the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. The AI-2 was stockpiled in fallout shelters and bunkers all across the Soviet Union, the Civil Defense of the Soviet Union was responsible for their maintenance and replacement (they had a shelf life of 3 years). The AI-2 was intended to be issued alongside the IPP-8A & GP-5 plus an IPP-1 Bandage, 1 full set for each civilian incase of war. As such, many hundreds of millions were produced and they are still extremely common today, though beware all of the medication inside has long since expired. The AI-2 was only meant for the Civilian population and personnel of the Civil Defense, the Soviet Army did not use the AI-2, they instead used the AI-1 with looks similar but contains different medication.
