Before anyone asks, no, it is not malware.

VirusTotal is a very unreliable way of testing software, as it very often has false positives triggered by basic program functions. If you were to put the official version of Mine-imator or Community Build into VirusTotal you'll get false hits. Even one brief Google Search of the most common false positive (Trojan.Malware.300983.susgen) will tell you this.

Use unofficial mods at your own discretion, but don't make malware accusations against them if you don't have solid evidence.

and i have 3 questions:

Will this mode come when new versions of Minecraft come out (especially Happy Ghast)

Will this mod continue to be developed?

I'm just asking this question out of curiosity. Is it possible to make a physics mode in Mine Imator?

Thanks! 😼

This was based on Continuation Build. If the Continuation Build had an update, this mod will be updated too!

Hmmm... The mod will be actively developed but pretty much rarely.

I don't really know about that for now 👀

I was making an effort to implement HBAO into Mine-Imator at some point and now here is someone who managed to achieve one of the very things I had failed to incorporate into my private modification of Mine-Imator Community Build. You've earned my respect, my dear lad ;)

Welp, at least I made up for it by making a number of additions and adjustments to Mine-Imator's pseudo-PBR model, which was already the focal point of my hobby project.

I appreciate you letting us know about this, especially as someone who quite heavily relies on VirusTotal. I sometimes resort to scanning files with Windows Security (basically Windows 10/11's built-in anti-virus software) because I can't always be bothered to scan stuff through external tools in order to ensure the safety of the things I download 😕

Wait hold on, Damn it's been two years. I'm gonna release it soon with new videos now, also for AVE-X testing xD

Mine-imator Simply Upscaled Build

A Simple Mod That Enhance Mine-imator Rendering Looks

12Sample.png

( Art by: YogaindoCR, AVE-X )

Personalized and Unprofessionals Warnings! You've been warned.

Also bad english for some reason

So I made a Mine-imator mod that have a new render engine intended for low sample rendering 😱😱😱😱
This mod was focused more on the rendering sides and some simple Quality of Life features 👀, don't expect something so cool like the Community Build!. But I'll probably gonna add something new if I have the time and not being a skill issue.

This mod was actually a private mod that I build for my little team for a movie project called AVE-X. But we decided to release it to the public and there it is!

This mod was purely based on Continuation Build. Enjoy! 😼

Github Source: https://github.com/YogaindoCR/Mine-imator-2.0.2-Simply-Upscaled-Build

Features:

Introducing A New Render Engine!  > AVE-X <

Have you ever wondered a new render engine that fixes some of the "Uncorrectness" of Mine-imator have? there it is!
This new engine used a new and more expensive shaders to calculate it's surroundings, this would enchance your project to whole new levels!. it was designed for low samples rendering for animations, while it's perfect for making a High Quality renders art.

Come with a single click of a button ✌️

All of the Renders bellow are rendered both on 8 Samples

> Indirect Global Illumination

FurdomLynxScene22.png

(Art by: YogaindoCR, FurDom)

Indirect Global Illumination was focused for a smooth and precise looking of Indirect Lighting. Indirect Lighting is pretty much great! but the noise issue on low sample was quite too much. Indirect Global Illumination now comes to fix it!

> HBAO Occlusion

hbao.png

(Art by: YogaindoCR, FurDom)

HBAO! a better version of the current ssao that uses more modern techniques to achieve a higher quality of SSAO. Now comes with 2 passes with one that can you control with "Ratio" in the render settings. this fixes the weird SSAO spreading around object! No longer dissapeared from far away.

> Better DOF

DOF.png

(Art by: YogaindoCR, FurDom)

Depth Of Field is now acted like a real camera apperture and have a smoother looks! Make sure you use Highlight edge of 40% and see the magic happens. This also reduces the weird ghosting issues in some certain scenario.

> New Shadow & Lighting Looks!

Lightings.png

(Art by: YogaindoCR, FurDom)

Reintroducing Shadow blur from the 1.2.9 era 👀. With samples now it produce more smoother and greater looking result!
This also fix and unfix the bias Issue where now the shadow could interact with a close or small bit of surfaces. The shadow blur can be controlled using the Size or Angle (Sun) of the lighting. This could bring back the old edge lighting techniques using spotlight.

> Better Subsurface Scattering

SSS4.png

(Art by: YogaindoCR)

Subsurface Scattering is a very great Addition in the 2.0.0 updates, But the very strong Subsurface scattering could bring the quality down. So I rewrote the Subsurface Scatering shaders with better controls for both highlight and coloring. Rim light is now easier than ever!

> Motion Blur!

motionblur1.png

(Art by: YogaindoCR)

Using a sample based motion blur, now we got a pretty much accurate movement blurring! Just make sure your project animation is well optimized!

> Other Rendering Features

  • ( AVE-X ) Reflection are now on Full Resolution and "Correct". Great for rendering high resolution renders.
  • New Tonemapper added new Tonemapper -Filmic and - Approximation ACES. Filmic can be great on Cinematic scenes while Approx ACES great on cartoony looking!
  • ( AVE-X ) Changing how the normal map looks, Now look more correct.
  • ( AVE-X ) Reduced some weird looking line when close to the camera
  • You can now make a smooth outlines for cartoon looking with the new HBAO. Try experimenting with the unlimited values and try putting the Ratio into negative
  • ( Vanilla ) Slightly faster rendering
  • 1.0.9.2 ( Vanilla+ ) A better quality with the same performance of Vanilla! Check out the 1.0.9.2 changelog for more details

Changes:

Version 1.0.9.4 (May 31th, 2025) from 1.0.9.3

Changes:

  • Changed: Vertical selection timeline drag speed is now scaling up overtime
  • Changed: Timeline Zooming is now much faster while Reduced Motion is enabled

Bugfixes:

  • Bugfixes: Indirect Denoiser artifact is reduced again

A physics mod? Yikes, I am not skilled or knowledgeable enough within the field of computer programming to pull that off. I'm sure someone out there with more experience and expertise in GameMaker Language can achieve that, but as for me, I ain't doin' that.

However, I will leave you with a quote my dad told me that has stuck in my mind: "It seems impossible, until it's done."

We do certainly like pushing the limits of GameMaker, including me with Mine-imator's rendering pipeline :)

I feel like this is definitely a step up from the original Mine-imator! One reason why I moved to Blender was because of lighting in Mine-imator being so weird but I'm glad to see its lighting fixed! Good job!

I agree with your sentiment. I think it's very nice to see this community making an effort to address their issues with Mine-imator's rendering. My main issue with Mine-imator's rendering is its implementation of physically based rendering (PBR). Above all else, this is the one thing that bothers me the most :(

I can forgive the screen-space reflections and the limited range at which the rays being emitted by the program's screen-space raytracer are allowed to travel (which also affects the indirect lighting as both reflections and indirect lighting are handled by said screen-space raytracer), I can forgive the shadow acne-like artifacts created by Mine-imator's screen-space raytracer (these appear to be especially apparent in reflections), I can forgive the screen-space ambient occlusion's questionable depth perception, I can forgive the lack of glass refractions (one of the things I'd expect any basic raytracer to have), I can forgive the lack of caustics, and I can forgive the screen-space subsurface scattering's quirks. But if there's one thing about Mine-imator 2.0.x's rendering I simply can't get over is its limited implementation of PBR and the many corners it cuts, resulting in an inaccurate representation of how light interacts with different types of objects and surfaces.

Thank you :)

Is it possible to compile the project under Ubuntu? I tried, but stopped at the project item "10. Generate Code::Blocks".
