Some worlds I can't import, some I can. Not sure what the difference is. Please help, here is the details of the crash:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Are these "broken" worlds made in Minecraft versions older than 1.16 and opened in 1.16? If so, you may need to "optimize" the world(World options in Minecraft) before importing. Optimizing a world ensures all chunks in a world are saved in the same format and allows the world importer to read the world chunks all the same without issues.

@Nimi Nope, I stared this world in 1.16.3. I tried to optimize the world and try again, same error:

For anyone else experiencing this issue in Mine-imator, I finally found a workaround:

  1. Open the world that will not import, press / to open the command window and type seed (https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Commands/seed)
  2. Press / again to reopen the command window, move your cursor over to the seed number displayed on screen and click it to copy it to your clipboard
  3. Create a new world, name it something different, set your settings and click More World Options...
  4. Place your cursor inside the field for "Seed for the world generator" and press Ctrl + V to paste the seed number
  5. Create New World

If you need a structure from your un-importable world, things get more complicated. I had to mod Minecraft using Fabric (https://fabricmc.net/) and install Litematica: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/litematica

Once you have these installed, and learn to use Litematica (may I suggest https://youtu.be/Z0Li5CPAyns?t=196 to get started) you will need to create schematics of the structure you wish to import:

  1. Press M to open the Litematica menu and click to change "Area Selection Mode: Simple" and "Tool Mode: Area Selection," close the menu
  2. Equip a stick and click to create a box around the structure
  3. Open the Litematica menu and click "Area Editor"
  4. Name the selection and click "Set"
  5. Click "Save Schematic"
  6. On the list screen click "Save Schematic" again
  7. Save and exit from world, open your new world from the same seed
  8. Move to the NW corner where you want to place the schematic, then open the Litematica menu
  9. Click "Load Schematics"
  10. Select the schematic in the list, click to select the "Create a placement" box and then click "Load Schematic"
  11. The hologram schematic appears. For adjustments return to the Litematica menu and click "Schematic Placements" and then "Configure" on the loaded schematic. Hover over the +/- buttons next to Placement of origin coordinates to move up/down/left/right/back/fwd
  12. Return to the main Litematica menu and click "Configuration menu"
  13. Click the Hotkeys tab if needed and set "executeOperation" to a key. I use X
  14. Return to the main Litematica menu and change Tool Mode to "Tool Mode: Paste Schematic in world" and exit the menu
  15. Press X. The structure should paste into your world
  16. Now try importing the structure into Mine-imator from your new world
