Lighting is a bit boring, you could add some point lights at each lantern to make the scene brighter.

Also, the camera angle is uninteresting, you could try placing it near the floor looking up, maybe in a corner looking at the hero.

Try messing around with the camera adjustments such as bloom and depth of field.

 

Overall, not bad! The character posing could use a bit more emotion as well, but that will come with practice.

I am admittedly terrible at lighting.

Tried it, it looked awful, decided to just do this instead.

Then try experimenting. May look bad or good, but with more practice, you'll get used to how lighting works and you will get good at it. :)
