Combine Multiple Images In Library

Whenever I open Mine-imator I try to add armor to a character but it doesn't show up on the image in the library is this a bug or is there something wrong with my computer?

I think I know what to do, you can correct me if I'm wrong, for example, let's say I open the default Steve or Alex skin and recolor them to make a new rig, is that possible?
