Why not let us import video files (MP4, wav, etc) into our projects. I think this will incredibly enhance animations

Mine-imator isn't a video editor, it's an animation program. It probably isn't capable of rendering two-dimensional and three-dimensional videos interchangeably. They would use completely different rendering techniques. Honestly Windows Movie Maker does wonders, very underrated program (but I use Vegas Pro 14, which costs money).

you could just use a video editing program like hitfilm express, or import image sequences
