High-Res texture intolerance

Howdy, I just installed M-I 1.1.4 and loaded in one of recent projects containing a rig loaded in straight from Community Build. (The rig also worked just fine on 1.0.6)
Now, most of the rig loaded in just fine aside from one major issue: The high resolution textures (2 15000x5000 images to be precise) used to map the rig's cylindrical walls crashed the program completely. Even if I load up the project and/or rig without these textures and add them back in, the program still crashes. Maybe this is just a quirk with 1.1.x's rendering system, maybe it's simply a limit of GameMaker 2 or the fact that M-I's still a 32-bit program, but this really irks me as I was hoping to finish this project in 1.1.4 instead of the aging Community Build. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
