Dimensional Distortions

Based off a freaky dream I had from a few weeks ago.

On Feburary 24th, 2018, a spatial anomaly was formed on the outskirts of Gainesville, FL, causing Earth's gravity in that area to weaken, along with the formation of some sort of trans-dimensional portal. This just so happened to be the result of a long-running government funded genetic research program covertly held at the nearby University of Florida.
This was due to a major miscalculation on one of the researcher's ends, the program's most recent test subject died from a lethal injection of Mycelium-plutonite, a compound used in a fellow government run program at the university involving experimental transportation methods.
She seemed to have lost all vital signs in a state of atomic/quantum paralysis, everything down to even a subatomic level stopped doing anything on it's own.
This state proved to be short lived, however. At 11:24PM she suddenly came back to life, albeit with some genetic mutations. Her pupils vanished with no rhyme or reason, high energy readings from within her head were emanating blinding amounts of photons, giving the illusion that her mouth and eyeballs were glowing.
Mysterious blue particles along with a powerful aura surrounded her, and the university's laboratory miraculously caught fire. As the campus was evacuated she fled to the outskirts of the city, angered, afraid, and determined.
Not long after, an innocent civilian who was travelling up I-75 had pulled over to perform maintenance on his car. He noticed the seemingly distressed young lady and reached out to her, only for her to flinch away in fear. She began to levitate, the gravity within 50 meters of her sharply dropping out of nowhere. More particles and an ominous blue aura surrounded the area, this time with a trans-dimensional anomaly forming behind her, warping all space-time within 10 meters.
The citizen pulled out a gun in self defense and hopped onto the top of his car to get a clear shot. He loaded the gun, aimed for her head, and pulled the trigger, yet nothing came out. Seeing this coming, she let out an ear-peircing shriek and fired a burst of energy at him.
The citizen soon fell into an agonizing trance-like state and was sucked into the anomaly, never to be heard from again.
