Outside editing (shame on me ^^) done in Photoshop, but I assume something similar could be done with coloured lights.

I assume you could do an HD sparkle as an item (probably x64 or x128) and add lights.

Seems legit! Pretty cool man, pretty cool. But did you consider possibly having bendable fingers? I could use my project Steve / Edit and make  an arm that is bendable and can move it's fingers around.

I'm already pretty far in the animation, but I'll definitely consider it for future projects
