  1. So... my "first" McMojang render using bending, so... I personally don't like bending, so here is a bendingless version! 1 Upvote = 1 No-bending fan!
  2. Hello again! In case you haven't noticed, I don't really like the new bending feature that was introduced in 1.1.3, so to stop myself from spamming the entire forums with my complaints, I have decided to make a topic where I could place all of them and even discuss with other people about this. This topic will include personal opinion, some objective facts that I think affect this new feature in a negative way, pictures describing the problem and probably some missing tweaks that should be implemented. Mind you that I do appreciate @david's hard work and the fact that he actually implemented this system as it was suggested by many users back then, but I'm not entirely happy with the results and I would love to point out what I don't like. It does seem that I could get used to this feature with time, but I still want to express my opinion. If you feel like I should add any other complaints or you don't agree with any point I'm saying, feel free to discuss in the replies. Let's start: -It breaks the Minecraft style and feel. -It does not appeal to a significant part of the community, several people are not really happy with the results too as I've seen here in the forums and in the YouTube community. -Round bending does not exist anymore (RIP), it had a few useful uses. -The new bending has a low amount of detail. -Item sheets on the body of rigs are now slightly broken. -The texture pinching was supposed to remove the need of the bending scale feature, but it only works up to 90 degress, a higher value causes Z-Fighting. Demonstration: -Some of the poses with the new bending are already possible to some extent with the old one. Demonstration: -There is a range in which using high values on more than one bending axis starts to look unnatural, will bother you unless you want to make weird satirical poses. Demonstration: -Using 3 bendings at once causes an even bigger range of an unnatural look, but high values go to the point of completely breaking the model. Demonstration: -The Z axis of bending deflates the body model, this did not happen with the old bending. Demonstration: POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS/SUGGESTIONS: This may be more suitable to go in Mine-Imator Suggestions subforum, but I'd say that this still falls in the context of this topic and could still be discussed so I'm keeping it here. I have no idea if any of these are possible to implement nor if they are good suggestions. If you have any other ideas that you think should be added, put it in the comments. Just wanted to put my opinion here, thanks for the read. I'm all open ears to any other opinions, so don't be afraid to discuss.
  3. I though I would do a haste test of the new bending mechanics. The end result is an obviously rushed piece of garbage with notably crap posing. There are also 2 typos, one on the BEFORE side, and the AFTER side. Constructive Criticism is appreciated, just don't repeat the obvious problems I've already mentioned. And don't downvote because of them!
  4. When animating, I find it very annoying that the bending and rotation of the body/arm/leg are both controlled on a single timeline. This makes it hard to make some sorts of animation. It would be amazing if the bending could be in a separate space so we can animate the rotation and bending separately.
  5. hello note:this animation is only the body bending so the arms, legs, head, facial are not animated also annoying strected texture here the test or animation test that it bye.... edit:credit @Keep on Chuckingfor his awesome KOC player rig template

    noob questions

Hello, I am a noob in 3D and Animation I saw some tutorial on youtube and I try to understand the possibility of mine imator mine and I have some questions 1 -> can we enable the "bending" option on cubes or it's only for the parts of mobs ? for my first animation I want to use a llama, they are not included so I did one with retextured parts of mob, which brings two questions: 2 -> mobs blocks and 1.10 / 1.11 will be added in the future ? i saw the Dev is very busy these month. 3 -> how to make a custom rotation point on the parts of mob ? it's impossible ? 4 -> how to make a texture for a cube that has been stretched so that the texture does not appear stretched? 5 -> is there a way to import a 3D JSON file from a minecraft resource pack ?(with a mod ?) 6 -> I can export my animation as a PNG sequence, but can i directly export to GIF? Thank you in advance for your answers and sorry for my english
  7. I'm having this trouble in which when I try to bend the left leg of this character, this happens: Legs Bending: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B86l5E9aXyNuXzRBRFhRcnhSd0E/view?usp=sharing Legs Straight: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B86l5E9aXyNuZHNhYXFsVXdhYWM/view?usp=sharing As you can see, the texture on the bent part of the left leg is flipped. Anyone know how to fix this?
  8. So i was gonna make a slime rig with smooth bending, and stuff i noticed when i parented Bend-Able Objects to each other only one of them bended. So here is my suggestion. Add Parent Bending! This is how it would work. Parent two Bendable objects to each other. Select the Object and click the [Parent] Button on the "Inherit" place thing-y This is what happens when u bend it.
  9. As all of we know, in the other animations's creators (blender, cinema 4D...) the slime bend in all directions Example: So i hope this feature will be add in the next version.
  10. Bending In mineimator is just a bit...how to put this... dull. And the reason is because of the few joints, and FK bending style. Now im not gonna be another person that request IK bending because as a fellow (but not as experienced) Software/Game Developer, I know that this is really difficult to do. All im asking for is a couple of enhancements that allow us to use our characters like stretchy dolls. So here is a reference picture, Click Pl0x cuz i cant insert media anyways, just from glancing at this photo you can see bending capabilities mineimator does not posses (im sorry david, i know youre tired of people comparing your program to other programs). We intially see the horizontal body bend which is probably number one at the top of this list. 1.Body Bends (Horizontal) A more flexible body for the character would be very useful and generally look much smoother than just twisting the body. If this feature is achievable im sure many would love to see it Next, we have a simpler, yet useful feature. 2. Ankles/Wrist Ankles and wrist are very aesthetically pleasing in a sense that they just spice up the arms and can make even a simple movement like grabbing a sword super smooth and really improve the smoothness factor of animations. That is probably the second thing you noticed while looking at the picture. moving on, we see the bend quality, hypersmooth isnt it? Too bad! thats probably way too much work to implement into mineimator. Instead, I think you should just redo the bend curvature to look a bit more smooth http://www.stuffbydavid.com/mineimator/blog/flexible.png that picture shows me that that type of bending is in fact possible, and with the new 1.0.0 features of super smooth quality on spheres and cylinders, the bending could look much much smoother. So that about sums up our 3rd thing! 3.Smoother Bending Graphics Now finally we come to something that ive hardly seen requested, and that is directional feet. If we could possibly select the bottom of the characters foot, and then have the option to rotate it on any axis, we could make feet similar to the one in the initial reference picture. again, like everything on this list, just an aesthetic improvement. 4. Directional Feet Lastly but certainly not least, we have the rubber body, you were able to make bends 3dimensional like rotation, it could be a huge step forward. instead of having to rotate the arm to make the bend go sideways, the bending interface looks more like this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5b/Sphere.svg/512px-Sphere.svg.png instead of just a flat green circle. This would be so incredibly useful probably marking it as the top most useful thing on this list (yet still in last :P) 5. Bends on all axis. Anyways, that basically concludes my suggestion. I hope you found the format understandable i do certainly hope you are able to take this into consideration as im sure me and many other MI users would find all of these things Very Very Useful. Cheers! ~Skeetok
  11. The first 0.7 Smooth Bends! (For those who can't access 1.0.0) Part of a package with my Hand Rig and my Advanced Steve Rig. A little bit late and out of date, but here you finally are: At the bottom you can kinda see the rig and how it bends and rotates. It also shows how you must 'Rotate' the Anchors and not bend the arms. Download: V1.0SmoothBending_Mooshimity Another update will come... if you really like it. This rig works exceptionally well with my http://www.mineimatorforums.com/index.php?/topic/11191-finger-rigs-download-now-advanced-rig-easy-to-use/?hl=mooshim#entry91815. It can be hard to put together, but I will be uploading tutorials soon. Rate it, use it, download it, do whatever your want with it, as long as you give THANKS TO ME. ToDo: Torso Bending (Body) Leg Bending Post what you think in the comments, I would really appreciate it, and it would make my rig better! Do what the text says Have a problem? 12. Hey Guys! I have another suggestion, yay. So, if you'd open the rotate thingy of a limb in a keyframe, I thought, there could be an option which caps the rotaion at poinst where you can't rotate f.e. your arm IRL. Like, you could only rotate it about 90 Degrees to the back and stuff like that. That way, you could make your animations more human-like. And if you wanted to break an arm or do weird stuff, you could turn it off. Tell me if u like dis idea.
  13. Bones (Armature) What that is basically is a tool that helps you move characters into positions much easier, many limbs at once. Blender has this feature, Maya has this feature, flash, etc. Generally all the top notch programs have the bone feature. That's why they are top notch. And I think you guys are more then top notch. You guys are top ice cream. I guess if you want to add this, you'll also need to add smooth arm bending and stuff too but bones will make that easier. (Even body bending!) Still not convinced? Lets look at it from an economical stand point. You see, there are not that many programs with bone tools, but since it's so easy to use, people are always on the look out for them. You know, I almost used blander instead of mine-imator because of the bone tool. When you start announcing that a free kick-ass 3-d animator for a popular game, more people are going to notice it. And more people means more money. (Adfly). And... Well... That's all I got. BUT TRUST ME THATS NOT ALL THE REASONS WHY YOU HEAR ME?!??! derp.
  14. I have been using this program for awhile, and I have to say, I love it! But there is one thing I hate, the bending. I looks chopped off and very ugly. Here is an example. These are pictures of bent limbs using other animation software. http://gyazo.com/218af090a75aac7f2fdf1300fffa9047 http://gyazo.com/ecab7702c54e026b492f026e3eed2072 Now here is Mine-Imator's bending limbs. http://gyazo.com/c7dea7fe90ffb1284dc221a30cbd359b http://gyazo.com/941ff2272ceed005cd9410223f2f123a See the difference? I certainly do. So maybe this could be a great improvement to this amazing software.

  16. I am wondering about the Scale-when-rotating-goes-outta-whack problem. Just a joke
  17. So i was wondering, is David going to add a better bending of limbs? it would really increase the quality of my animations, but would be very complicated to do. I'm just asking, will he? if he does, when? thx for reading

    Better bending?

Hi there! I wanted to know if you will ever make the bending look smoother? such as in when arm bends, will the texture ever stretch along with it?
