This was inspired by a Mianitian Isles stream from months ago, when the streamers were in the land of mushrooms and a bunny was leading them around, and then they all went afk and the bunny just hopped around singing "mushrooms are good for me, mushrooms are good for you, they make me happy, mushroom mushroom mushroom". Mostly the idea of making a psychedelic render with shrooms was funny to me, lol.

I couldn't find an item frame model that used the vanilla textures, so I made one myself. It's not perfect, but it's functional. Pics: In-game frame for comparison (image from Minecraft wiki) I didn't get the UVs to match up perfectly but it's pretty close; if you wanna try to adjust it you can always open the file in Modelbench. TIP: to rotate the frame from the center, select the "frame" part under the main item frame model. DOWNLOAD: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mhpr6hktveup21p/item frame.zip?dl=0

Re-used the set and adapted the skin to my rig to make this picture, as a profile pic. (I changed my Discord nickname in one server to "pumpkin pilyglot", as a play on pumpkin pie of course, so I made a picture to go with it)

Thanks guys! Oh by the way, not to toot my own horn, but that fish, poorly animated as it is (I changed that scene at the last minute and it came out wonky), is my own custom model ?.

So this is my second animation; still having a lot of trouble with the tempo of movements, and it's really short, but I learned a lot in the process of making it! (but why does the thumbnail look ridiculously garbled... it looks fine on my YT page...) Link to my first animation for comparison

The pic doesn't work for me; I see a grey camera and what seems to be "no photo" in Russian ?

Birthday Party (first attempt at animating; extremely rough!)

It does tend to make itself rather apparent, doesn't it ? -
#OperationChickenRescue - Animation for AdultsCraft Network
pilyglot replied to ThatBikeGuy87's topic in Work in progress
The concept has potential, but you need more action. There's a whole lot of moving the camera around a mostly-still scene, which doesn't hold the viewers' interest for long. They're left waiting for something to happen to advance the storyline, and when nothing happens for a significant amount of time, they get bored and might click away. Hope that helps; good luck with your series! -
Made this four days after installing MI, it probably needs another light. Not really satisfied with Cap's pose; he's supposed to be leaning on that stone block but I don't feel like it really achieves that effect, any suggestions for that would be appreciated. I made it for a desktop background (hence being sized to fit my laptop screen, and having the left side mostly blank) and it seems to be serving adequately in that capacity lol

Overall it looks good to me; the animation of the train and such look natural, and the way the car kind of bounces down a little when it stops is a nice detail. I also like the use of camera angles to highlight what is happening. The only things I noticed that were kinda off (and obviously I'm not an animation expert) were the tint of the car windshield (windshields aren't usually that dark, and it obscures the character somewhat) and the way the firemen walk; making a custom walk cycle does take some time but it's definitely worth it, and if you save the keyframes you can adapt them for use in multiple projects, and it really adds to the overall smoothness of your animation. But as I said, it does look nice overall; looking forward to seeing what you make next ?.

Updated walk cycle; added a little movement to the head and body, and bent the knee more between steps since the last one kinda looked like they were dragging their feet on the ground. Used a couple different camera angles this time so you can see it better. https://streamable.com/8f0sgd

Nice animation, very entertaining ?. That witch apparently isn't so bright ? (can't really blame her for being mad at the skellies tho lol)

How to Make a Cake - 10 YEARS ON YOUTUBE
pilyglot replied to TheRealMariobros1045's topic in Narrative animations
350 degrees Celsius... you sure that's right? lol More importantly... doesn't he get any cake? Or only gets to sit back and watch his friends eat it all? -
I don't have a YouTube link, as I don't like cluttering my channel with little test things and such (even when they're unlisted, the fact that they're there troubles me lol), so I hope Streamable is adequate... maybe sometime I'll make a secondary channel for these. Anyway, this is my second try at making a walk cycle (the first one was lost when MI crashed... this time I tried to do better at clicking save regularly); it's fairly basic, like I didn't have the body and head move, but at least it doesn't look as much like "floating across the world" as the first one did. Let me know if you have any tips or suggestions on making better walk cycles ? https://streamable.com/lod6ub

Birthday Party (first attempt at animating; extremely rough!)
pilyglot replied to pilyglot's topic in Narrative animations
Thanks! I think I'll be focusing on shorter animations to work on the characters' movements, especially the timing, as that seems to be the most glaring issue at the moment. -
Hi I just downloaded Mine-imator last night, I mean this morning, well it was 3 am, so however you categorize that. I've never done any kind of animation before, so we'll see if I manage to get the hang of it. Anyway I am pilyglot, which is a portmanteau of pi and polyglot because I like languages (but haven't had much success in becoming fluent) and was into memorizing pi for a while, though I'm pretty out of practice now. People often call me pily for short. My Minecraft name is basically just my name but in Toki Pona, which is a constructed language designed to be simple and minimalistic. I'm kind of obsessed with Minecraft animations, especially music videos, some of my favorites are Find the Pieces, Running to Never, and Diamond Sword (the one that's an Imagine Dragons parody, though the one that goes "I need a diamond sword sword sword sword" is fun too lol). So I figured it'd be fun to try to make some animations myself, right now I'm trying to have a birthday party in one of the house schematics because why not :-D.
