Too much destructive criticism. Barely anyone seems to actually help each other improve anymore.
Looking back at posts from a few years ago, everyone was so much nicer to each other...

It's also not a serious show in the slightest. The whole thing is meant to be silly, even if it's a bit dark for a kid's book series (and tv series). The ridiculous nature of the books/show and the improbability of it is the point.

__Mine__ got a reaction from Jake_28 in How do comic book artists shade this way? And why?
Because it's a simple way to do shading. You'll find that most comics that are entirely hand-drawn use this shading since the artist would only want to use a single pen for the entire thing.

__Mine__ reacted to Dannyboi in JAPPA’s textures for Minecraft are actually pretty good IMO
I kind of agree with Mine in some regards. I think the textures are pretty good on their own and would work if it wasn't Minecraft. They'd look really cool in a render or something but what's missing is the idea of functionality. In my farms I could barely tell if something was grown because of the way the final stage before being grown looks like it's already grown. I didn't know until I noticed a loss in potatoes (which now look somewhat like carrots when planted). I couldn't list them off the top of my head but a lot of the textures look pretty inconsistent. Especially stone, stone looks soft rather than hard. The old texture wasn't that good to begin with but the stone didn't look like fabric. Like Mine, I'd say it seems like a fan resource pack but I'll admit it looks very good and it could potentially work if it wasn't for issues with consistency and ambiguity of what textures are trying to depict. Not much was wrong before and I don't think it needed fixing but a new re-texture could have worked well, just not these ones.

__Mine__ got a reaction from Mineshaft Animation in JAPPA’s textures for Minecraft are actually pretty good IMO
Because in my opinion, the textures honestly look like crap, and now there's even more inconsistency than before. Everything uses like 5 colours and the quality really suffers because of it.
For example, the top textures for Stripped Logs were changed, but the side textures weren't. So now the top texture is horrifically un-detailed in comparison to the sides.
The side texture for Grass Path wasn't changed either, so once again the top texture has much lower detail than the sides.
And don't even get me started about the Farmland block...
Honestly, no-one asked for this completely unnecessary texture overhaul, and it feels like a low-res fan-made resource pack instead of the new default.
Good thing the Programmer Art pack exists so I can continue using Mine-imator...

(sorry in advance for this, but honestly it angers me more than it should lol)
This "Classic" is such a badly-made fake, and the fact they're passing it off as the "original" is just ridiculous.
It's clear Mojang really don't seem to care about Minecraft's past for the purposes of this anniversary.
In the year-by-year history of the game, the first major update even mentioned is the Pretty Scary Update, which is Release 1.4.2. I guess Release 1.0 wasn't worth mentioning, then?
And even in the 10th anniversary map, they took the entirety of Classic, Indev and Infdev and just called it "Pre-Alpha" with next to no information about what happened in those development cycles.
Also, they had 9 pages of information for the Llama, but only 3 for the Creeper... you know, the creature that's apparently meant to be the game's mascot?
And on that note, not a single mention of Notch or the fact that he ever made the game.
Honestly, this entire anniversary has been an insult, and shows how little Mojang know - or care - about the past of their own game.

Yeah, definitely not the Classic I played in the browser back on the old minecraft.net. They don't even give you the same blocks. Huge disappointment imo, was hoping for nostalgia but instead got what felt like a fan-made clone.

@__Mine__ I dont blame Mojang. It's all Microsoft. They said themselves that they werent going to include Notch because of his controversy. Which is stupid because he made the game, he even said happy birthday on his twitter. I remember thinking that the game would be fine back in 2014 when it was sold. Sure it's doing fine but over time Microsoft has been holding it closer and closer.
