i need help with the import world feature

hey i just got it working just by doing random things and I have no idea what I did so can someone tell me what I did so I can do it again plz -
I need help. every time I click on the import world and then I chose the world that I want to import and then I chose how much of the world and when I click done a pop-up comes saying could not write to file. check that it's not used by another process. what does check that it's not used by another process even mean? someone please help me
