1)There is no "Grid" option for moving, rotating and scaling. If I didn't find it, please write in the comments where it is

on the top of your screen, there's a magnet icon which stands for the grid snap. you can also hold CTRL while manipulating an object to snap it to the grid.

All light sources leave dots in the reflections

i believe (not sure though) there's a Specular option on light sources which allows you to turn it down.

  2. Limbo_Next_poster_MI_2.0.png

Teaser poster for Limbo Next (formerly called MDVDCDC, short for Madnaoç Districter Valley: Director's Cut: Director's Cut)

For a while, I've been working on Limbo Next, a roughly 30 minute movie featuring Limbo ( @MikTRF ,@9redwoods@Frost@Jake_28 @DragonPixel@LordKillo ,@Jnick@Floofy, PhyreCreations and me), a regular group of teenagers that while meeting up in NYC, quickly turns into a resistance caught in the middle of the crossfire of a cartoonishly cliché evil authoritarian hivemind dead-set on taking over the minds of every human on the planet.

Will they succeed to defeat the hivemind and save the world using the power of friendship? There's only one way to know.

this was more of a render to test out MI 2.0 but i figured i'd have a little more fun with it

  3. I made a beach map in WorldPainter today and thought to myself, what a wonderful world but also that something was missing. Parasols, of course, so I had to make some.

    umbrellapreview.png?width=1193&height=67

    Features:

simple & consistent with Minecraft's general look

2 textures, a default rainbow design and a Japan flag design. you can use those as a base for your own!

textures with "umbrella" in their names because let's face it, parasols and umbrellas are the same thing

  4. title says it all. here's some video footage of the immediate crash and audio files failing to load:

    https://streamable.com/xj5ska

there is no crash message at all whatsoever, no crash report message in the next start up either. one of the projects i have functions somewhat, but an audio file (danger zone by kenny loggins because why not) does not play and that is a huge shame. the crashes seem to happen at certain points of the animation projects when playing after pausing, but playing before those parts and continuing into them does not cause a crash. i'll temporarily revert to 1.2.9

  5. a project of mine now loads very fast, but now has a static noise in the background for the entire duration, fails to load some MP3 files and crashed after dragging the timeline around a bit.

errors like these now appear a lot, and the program often stops responding or crashes without a message at startup.

just playing my animations crashes the entire program, which is very very very very concerning

  6. after a looooooooong time, i've started working on an ambitious animation project which will definitely raise the bar for MI animations to come, featuring epic action moments, epic action moments, epic action moments, 80's music, humor and An Engaging Storyline. here is a teaser of it which features a vague acronym for the name!

    unknown.png

    featuring @Cryptic Runner @9redwoods @DragonPixel @Phyre @MikTRF @belmo @Floofy @Frost @Jake_28 @Jnick

...see you in Lorse Vaygice ; )

  7. mine-imator luckily automatically saves every few minutes, here's how you can access those:

press "Open Project" in the first screen to open a project from it's file. from there, you'll be able to access the folders of your projects. open the folder of project you lost, then on the bottom right of the explorer window, change the file type to ".backup". you should be able to access backup saves from there. they might not contain everything, but they'll probably contain most of what you worked on.

I was thinking more like split-screen, like in Mario Kart Wii multiplayer, to signify each actor is in their own space.

you could use surfaces with camera textures. you can configure the resolutions of each camera to get a non-stretched image and set them as invisible to have them not become the main cameras (the surfaces will still display what the camera sees despite the camera being invisible, i think)

  9. there's a camera shake option in the camera's keyframe settings. it doesn't rotate, but it could get the job done quick

    unknown.png

if you're on an older version of MI (pre 1.2.6 i think?) or want to do it manually instead, i'd recommend trying to vary the shake. currently, the camera just bobs left and right in the exact same way every time, you could try making it go up and down too. it's also a bit too distracting due to how intense it is, so you could tone it down too

Is it possible even? Do I gotta message a mod or something?

you indeed have to message a moderator to rename yourself. they actually made a post about it

I doubt anyone was hoping for a delay on the update

i actually kinda was hoping for a delay, since i didn't feel like there was enough put into this update. it looks like it'll pay off though, because more polish, content and optimization is probably going to be done and be done even better.

also, have any crashing issues related to project video rendering been solved? i have a project that i've been working on a while that i can't export into video at all.
