You'll gain some pretty good experience making a text box from scratch. Shouldn't require too much out of you if it's just a single-line one.

Don't you hate it when you make a wrong turn trying to get a snack from the kitchen and this happens.

Jake_28 reacted to insanehelix7076 in How do I add Minecraft models made with Modelbench to a Minecraft mod?
Modelbench and mine-imator are not related to any minecraft tweaks or mods.
they are simply used for animation, blockbench is the program that creates mods, not modelbench.

Jake_28 reacted to Draco63 in So today I was in an argument of Bedrock Vs Java, and oddly enough I found myself arg
Yeah, I definitely lean more towards Java. I do think that Bedrock has some great things, (I can spend hours with the Education Edition features because I'm nerdy that way,) but the monetization and the way that Microsoft tries to put it forward as the "better" version (because it gives them more money) is what kills it for me.

IMO It still doesn't feel related to Minecraft, it's just a clapperboard that is pixelated.

@Annie-Mienai Yup! The hard part is finding the right item to represent 'modeling', but it's being worked on. The world importer will also get a new icon, I'll share it once they're ready to be shown!

Jake_28 reacted to Draco63 in I changed my mind. While it is a non issue and I don't really care if the icon change
About that, though. If it's just going to sit in the taskbar, I still want it to be differentiated from basically every other program that uses a filmstrip for its icon. I liked the old MI icon because it immediately said "Mine-Imator" as opposed to just "-Imator."
Also, it's not that I don't like change. I do feel like the old MI icon needs some improving, I just don't like the latest concept as much.

Jake_28 got a reaction from Swingzero in saw this on a post, is it a new logo or just an export icon?. if it's a new logo, it
A friend of mine said this on discord:
Also, personally, i think the top in each of these columns is the best icon for each software:
They're tied to minecraft while showing what they are.
A world importer, a section of a world,
a crafting table with props and stuff in it,
a crafting table (ties it to MI) being broken into chunks (since you can use modelbench to make models like that).

You need to learn the difference between an icon and a logo, then. This is the new logo, which has been sitting in our signatures for a while now:

The filmstrip icon is... just an icon. Who cares? It's just gonna sit in your taskbar or show up as a favicon, and for that purpose, I think it represents 'animation' a looot better than the blurry mess the current icon turns into if you shrink it down, even if isn't as Minecraft-y as the previous one.

Also, saying it's "not appealing" is just a matter of taste. Personally, I find the new icons much more pleasant to look at than ones you can't even properly read unless they're 100px tall.

the reason why I downvoted its because I simply don't like that design. statistically speaking, what is the number of people that likes the new icon compared to the old one? if there is more dislikes, the answer seems simple, don't change it. but I understand your reasoning, a simpler icon would certainly be easier to see, but if people are going to dislike the design, no matter how easy it is to see it is not an improvement. do you agree?

Jake_28 got a reaction from LacaMenDRY in I was learning on it... If I am will became a Next Dev Of MI In 2024,What it would be
I didn’t learn gml with general tutorials. I learned scratch (https://scratch.mit.edu) and used trial and error + coding concepts i learned from scratch to learn. If i needed help with something specific i’d look at a gml tutorial. Also MI’s code is old and confusing so i’d reccomend trying to start with smaller projects, then learn how 3d works in gml, then try modding mine imator, then ask to be the developer.

Jake_28 got a reaction from LacaMenDRY in You guys says that Mine-Imator Is An Open Source software right? How I can Customize
Step 1: go to the github
step 2: download source (it should have a green button saying code)
step 3: buy gamemaker studio 2 desktop
    step 4: open the project
(note there may be some issues due to nimi not having updated to the latest gamemaker version)
    step 5: profit

I 'dig' it. Ha. Ha. Ha.

Jake_28 reacted to __Mine__ in This year's Mob Vote is going to be disappointing... Recycled roster, and the only in
The thing is, a few dozen people in a sea of millions is far too small of a minority to change anything.
For example, the amount of people like me who want Survival mode to not be a complete cakewalk 10-15 minutes after starting a new world is vastly outnumbered by the amount of people who want the game to be even easier, going by the fact Mojang seems to enjoy trivialising Survival mode more and more with every update.
