Actually the dev's programmed the MI, so they do kinda need something from us back. Upvotes are an easy way to show our gratitude. 

I'm not actually an actual developer of MI, but I have several years of experience as a developer of unrelated projects and experience modding MI, and as such I have a good idea of the struggle involved. The amount of upvotes being more than those of an average member is pretty much a given from somebody with high reputation, such as SKIBBZ. A high reputation member is well known, and has proof of their ability to create good content, and so more people are inclined to click. New members are less likely to get clicks until they work hard for a higher status. A developer would naturally get more clicks than somebody who's just joined, and I'm sure I don't need to explain why.
