I'm supposed to be at school right now (cuz it's 1:08 PM), but this happened:
A group of peoples, named "gilets jaunes" (yellow jackets" in english) were manifesting against a reform that would make the baccalaureate harder and worse.
They were blocking the high school entry, so I was outside.
But some people were launching smokes, firecrackers, and wanted to use trash bins to explode bigger firecrackers on it (hopefully, me and others people prevented them from doing that). The police was here and with all this mess, I think they were about to launch some teargas grenades on the crowd for it to dissipate. So for my security, I decided to get back home.

This is why it's useful to always have a gas mask or respirator. If this is the kind of things that can happen, I'd recommend finding a cheap GP-5 mask in working condition. Be aware, the filters contain asbestos but pose no risk with later models unless damaged. If you're not comfortable with that, get a normal respirator with charcoal filters. If you can't afford these, you should carry a nice, thick towel. In WWI, people urinated on cloth and covered their mouths to resist chlorine gas. It worked better with normal water, as the urine resisted most harmful chemicals but created an irritant. This method, however, doesn't work very well with tear gas, so prepare to focus on running away if you need to follow this approach.

@BaconSandwich yeah because a friend that was staying here told me that an assholes has kicked somebody on the back.
One of the yellow jackets has stopped the aggressor, but then there were 30 people who came to beat the crap out of another friend who was just helping the yellow jacket.
Appraisal of the damages:
The yellow jacket got a dislocated leg when he tripped the aggressor, and the beated friend got minor injuries.
I think I'm gonna take a melee weapon with me tomorrow.
