  1. The Premise In the old days of gunslingin', varmint hunting, and shootouts a man who had his wife kidnapped from him plans to rescue her from the evildoers that hold her. Follow a shitty plotline condensed into two minutes of amateur animating with an abrupt ending and an overall crappy soundtrack to tie it all together. Its the whole package! Why did I upload this nonsense? You may be wondering why I decided to upload this video, even though it clearly has a ton of flaws in it (even for a newbie). Well, the video took so long to start, and at the beginning I had intentions on finishing it with high quality animations. Unfortunately, time took its toll and I lost interest in the project as college work began piling up yet again. I did not wish to discard all the work I had put into few parts of it, and thus I present to you the cliché crappy-two-minute-really-pointless-western film. Takeaways & Lessons "Come on, this couldn't have been a waste of time! I'm sure there's something that could have been learnt from this." is what you might say. And if you did say that, you are absolutely correct. Here are some lessons I learnt from making this video: Budget your time effectively at the start of a project to avoid losing interest later. Use player skins that don't conflict with the player rig. Spherical skymaps are not effective in Mineimator. Don't cut the ending so abruptly. Learn how to properly export so you don't get unwanted aspect ratio. I hope you too learned something in the viewing of this film. And now, without further adieu: But hey, that action scene was pretty cool, eh? Also, bring on the comments on how I need work and blah blah blah. I'm ready emotionally for criticism... possibly.
  2. Firstly, thank you for the feedback. I really liked using the car models scaled down from schematics because I like involving a different community in the animation process—the build community. However, I do admit that using a rig would look a lot less cheesy, especially if I'd be able to make the wheels spin. Nevertheless, I'll begin using both schematics and rigs as most of the community does. Secondly, since the group doesn't really exist and it was just suppose to aid the overall "production value" of the animation, I don't mind if anyone just adds the tag to their video (even though I doubt anyone will). It was really just for shits and giggles.
  3. This might just be the most useful thing anyone's commented yet. Thank you.
  4. Season Premiere Finally, the first episode of CONTRACT is here! Honestly, the TV Spot ad was supposed to be a fake, but since I received real and positive reviews (and since the production company got a huge boost financially), we decided to go ahead and make the series. Below is a little information on the show, and below that is the video. Introduction Welcome to the official screening for the latest hit television installment, CONTRACT. The show, directed by 'an overpaid tool', is a perfect representation of crime life on the blocky streets of Greenfield City. The show will progressively show the hardships of day-to-day armed robbers, to middle men sharks, all the way to the bigfish gang-boss, criminal underworld leader. War wages against crime in the streets of Greenfield City, and police are in a stump attempting to control all the underground criminal networks. One successful crime boss, Mr. Whitmore, is at the center of a battle against authorities and rival gangs. Blood will be shed as greed and justice turn this man from a middle-man gang boss to the largest crime lord superpower the nation has ever encountered. Watch the Show About the Network MCFilmClub Network is a Minecraft animation based network that has been operating in game for over, er, five days. As of now, to be a member, you just need to put the words "MCFilmClub Network" somewhere in your video or the title. That simple! Cheers, and happy animating! Updates Finally, after many months of begging the production company for funding, they continued to be the stone cold jerks they were to begin with. Does that mean we are killing the project? Hell no! Besides, what the hell are we supposed to do with all these car models we hustled...erm I mean purchased for the shoot? That's right, we're going to be back and bigger than ever in the next few months.

Our great team (just me so far) is made up of people just like you, and if you'd like to be a member of the network, just leave a reply here and we'll be happy to take you. Joining the club is a great way to make friends in the field of voxel based films, and its great to help you grow your network. In case you didn't realize, its not a legit show, just the spot is real. However, you are free to "join" the MCFilmClub and collaborate! This community is great and its a wonderful place to work together to make videos. But again, as of now, there is no actual show.
