  1. Why are people always talking about 'framerates'??

When you buy a computer or a console or a monitor people always wanna know how many 'frames per second' it runs at. Who cares?! A second is a second. As long as a game can move your player from point a to point b in one second it doesn't matter how many images it draws in that time, be it 30, 60, 500 or 1.

Framerate is the least important aspect to gaming.

I can play Minecraft at 8 fps, and no one can tell me I can't!

Edit: I'm not being serious. This is an apparently poor attempt at humor, seeing as its difficult to convey sarcasm when its just text on a screen. ?

this is possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard, how do you play a game at 8 FPS? guess what, you cant, it'll be so slow the experience is ruined, and the game isn't fun, nobody wants a slow PC like that because having at least 60 FPS makes the game enjoyable, and fun to play

edit,  know now this is a joke, but there was like no sign of it being so, besides a reply that i didn't see

FPS may not be important for sandbox games, but it does ruin immersion, and a low FPS could cause headaches and nausea without any type of motion blur.

It's super important for FPS games though. Insanely important for your performance and accuracy.

I'm honestly not a fan of /s, it kinda ruins the impact of using sarcasm.    I think a better way to convey sarcasm would be either making very heavy use of words like "totally", using italics a lot and putting a few good counter-arguments in your statement while treating them as if they're stupid.    And honestly I think Spontaneous Explosions here did a perfectly fine job at conveying sarcasm.

An example since I'm pretty terrible at explaining things:
"The 1911 is clearly the only good choice of handgun.    I mean, come on!    It won two world wars!    Now, don't hit me with that 'Those were over 70 years ago' nonsense, it can't have been that long ago..."

Another far easier but less subtle method is tO uSe CaPs LiKE aN ABsOlutE mADmAn.
