Spontaneous Explosions

At the end of the game, the Gman takes Alyx to future to save Eli Vance.

And in the after credits scene, Eli hands Gordon a crowbar and says 'we got work to do' after saying that Altx is gone and Gman took her.

Okay. so. This causes some timeline inconsistencies.

In the original timeline where Eli Cance dies, which is Half life 2 and episodes, the events of Hla could not have happened. But somehow it did. I mean, Eli got in the same circumstance despite Alyx being taken to storage. I mean, you remove Alyx from hl2, things dont play out the same.

The only way this makes sense in my mind is Gman sees Eli's death as an unfavorable occurrence, and goes back to some time prior to half life alyx and allows himself to be captured by the Combine, so he could have Alyx save her father, and so he could procure a replacement for Gordon Freeman, as he says.

And the only way all that makes sense is if the Half Life Universe uses Avengers Endgame time travel logic.

You can't change the past. If you go back and change something, it creates a new alternate timeline, whereas your original timeline remains unaffected.

Idk if any of that made any sense at all, its confusing. It kinda makes sense to me. 

Alright, basically, half life alyx takes place in an alternate timeline, or universe. It has to.

Anyway, however this plays out, I'm excited for the next chapter.
