I've just asked about this on their support forums: https://fxhome.com/forum/discussion/50896/mp4-video-export-cant-be-used-with-hitfilm-express

I've previously exported the video as MOV but then HitFilm tells me to install QuickTime. But the QuickTime installation keeps failing (I'm on Windows 10 and QuickTime is unsupported software so that might be a problem) so idk.

.MOV is exclusive to QuickTime, so that would make sense. Have you tried .AVI? And I've installed QuickTime on Windows 10 before, so I'm not sure why your installation would be failing.

  2. This is an issue with Hitfilm (and other software too, like Sony Vegas), not Mine-imator. One possible solution is installing Apple Quicktime player, but that doesn't work for everyone and Apple Quicktime is dumb. I'd just export as something other than mp4 or ask on Hitfilm support forums, if they exist, since I haven't worked with Hitfilm much. The solution for Sony Vegas is really hacky and probably not the same as Hitfilm.

  3. Just remove the iron bars from the schematic and add them back in inside Mine-imator, I don't think it's necessary to change up the math like that. Could break other things indirectly.

And I'm not really sure what you're talking about with arms and legs clipping, I really haven't noticed problems like that.

my only little nitpick, is how big the logs are compared to Steve. It looks great otherwise, +1

I agree, but I think it's accurate to the actual in-game model. We can always resize it though

  5. 4K at 60 fps would probably be super demanding on your computer. Try pressing save, then let it sit for an hour or so and come back to see if it's at least started. Even 4K still images can take a second. Also, try finding the program's logs in AppData > Local and sending the latest one, it may help.

Edit: I should say that when I render 4K still images my program freezes up for a few seconds, which I'm assuming is what's happening to you to an extent.

I used ease in and out. any suggestions for transitions that would work better?

It really depends on the situation, what kind of movement you want. To tell the truth just playing around and testing out all of them works wonders, just remember what kind of transition looks best with certain movements. Using the same transition for every movement can make it look unnatural. Looking alright though, I'd just practice more!

  7. Took one for the team, it actually does work but it's slightly messy.

It basically just searches through tags and topics for what you search for, and you can click a link to open it in your default web browser. But there's no way of sorting the results and all the tags look the same. It would also be nice if you programmed some kind of preview of the topic. And also, you can't use Enter to search, you have to actually click Search. Not a huge deal it would just be nice to have. It also apparently doesn't just search rigs, it searches profiles too. In fact, it probably searches every single page on the website. For some reason, I found dozens of "The rules of the Mine-imator Forums". All of these links take me to the same place.

The alerts you get when downloading and running this are probably because it's just an unregistered .exe you downloaded from Dropbox, I did a scan and I'm virus-free. All-in-all it's a neat concept but definitely needs some work.

    Help!

Moved to Mine-imator Help, as this isn't a rig.

There isn't one way to do it, but I would personally make some custom yellow/orange light rays to come out of their hands and feet, in addition to some particles. I would learn how to use the particle creator if you haven't already (I'm not particularly experienced in it myself) and get something that looks close to what you want. Again, there's no one way to do it and it's all up to your taste and what you know how to do well.

  8. That probably means it's getting caught by the spam filter. Tell him to wait a bit and try a different username and email address, since IPBoard is more likely to think he's a spammer after multiple failures with the same email.

This is an interesting idea but I personally don't see it having a place. MI is written in GameMaker so there are probably constraints on additional APIs that can be used. In addition, Discord's rich presence is targeted for games, as is Discord itself. It's designed as a system so, as an example, you can see what game your friend is playing and decide whether or not to join them. It probably wouldn't work well with MI.

The most use I can see coming out of rich presence for MI would be the project's title, which a lot of people would want to keep under wraps until release anyway. Discord rich presence sounds neat on paper but I really don't think it'd be helpful in practice.

  10. Do you have any warnings, and what are they for?

I have 4 warnings. 3 of them are from years and years ago for spamming, when I was a kid who didn't really... grasp the concept? The last one is from a while ago too but I've regretted it since and am now on good terms with the guy affected.

    What is your age?

    17

How often are you active on the forums and what is your timezone?

I'm constantly on the forums. I check it multiple times a day and look at every Recent Topic and Status Update, and have been since I signed up. UTC-7.

Why do you want to become a moderator and why should we pick you?

Basically the same reason I moderate the Discord, to help people out, encourage a more helpful environment, and get rid of the rule-breaking stuff. I've been around on the forums since 2015 so I know the ropes, and even already have experience moderating an IPBoard site, so I know my way around the tools, how IPBoard sites function, and the responsibilities involved with moderating. Since we're at a shortage of mods now, I feel like I'm one of the most qualified for the job. Edit: Oh yeah, and I'd also really like to finish working on the dark theme I started making with Emunator before he left.

Are you willing to join the official Discord server if you already haven't, and to be a moderator there as well?

Absolutely, I already do. A couple months ago it was thought that I was really inactive, and I realized it was my fault for not engaging with the community enough in their conversations and such. Since then I think I'm doing good and can easily take on forum moderation as well.
