Not everyone believes they owe bigots a place in their lives and that's okay too. Having more wonderful people like Daryl Davis to deprogram indoctrinated folks would be great, but there's nothing wrong with making the choice of distancing yourself from people who despise your mere existence.

@Voxy I suppose I should clarify, Daryl is a more extreme example.    

Once somebody's actually racist or something equivalent then I can understand wanting to avoid them.  But crap like that is very extreme, and very uncommon.

At the very least within the so-called Overton Window hating someone over their political opinions is needlessly hostile and counterproductive.

Yeah Daryl is 100% an extreme case (and a statistical anomaly as well)
