What's a Forum Warning Points?
How can I get one of those?
-
Sometimes when I think or talk about some of the stuff I've done on here, I'm mostly met by shame.
Stuff like "What was I thinking?" then again I suppose we're all like that when we think about ourselves in the past. I should leave my past be to be honest, I can't help but think about it. Might just be my anxiety who knows.
Been a bit of a quiet month for me and I'm out of most of my discord servers so I've had too much time to think.
I've been thinking about other things too, but since I'm getting back into Minecraft (while also playing Terraria) I've been reminded by my 15 - 16 year old days where I'd make crappy animations and just terrible or random stories. I'm not denying it, I sucked but that's alright, I accept that.
Heck this is back when my main character for Minecraft animations was a separate character from my drawings and other stories (and I ended up mostly scrapping Vespur) I had no direction for Vespur and I just made a bunch of random stuff and it ended up being a mess.
Aside from that I never mentioned this but where am I now? well my mental health is still pretty low, I've not been feeling too great lately but I'm better than I was last year and two years ago.. so there's that. I work now too so I don't have as much free time to do too many things. As a quick summary I don't want to get too into this. I was caught up in a bunch of drama with family and the public and it ate away at my mental health over time, my physical health was also pretty awful and I didn't get the help I needed for a few years. It sucks but I'm glad I have some help now.
Anyways though I hope you are all well, I've seen a few new peeps hop on which is great to see.
-
That sucks. :/ Hopefully you'll feel way better soon.
Also I can relate with the whole regretting everything you've posted here thing. Best thing to do is just remember that it was years ago and chances are nobody remembers it, and if someone did they wouldn't judge you for it. Everyone screws up a bunch when they're young and dwelling on the past doesn't get you anywhere.

Hey fellas, gonna be dropping a fairly ambitious hand-drawn animation this friday on my dusty ol' Youtube channel, might make a topic for it as well. Here's a sneak peek...

Bruh i cant take anymore these downvotes i am getting out to make a new account
-
Downvotes don't really mean much and shouldn't be taken personally.
Also creating additional accounts is against the rules.

This is a momentous occasion. For the first time in human history, hindsight is truly 2020.
YESSSS I've been waiting all year to say that!
-
Hey remember when people constantly made AMA topics. What happened to those.
-
Are there still people on the forums willing to join collabs? Or... willing to make animations at all?
I have a huge urge to host another collab but I won't bother trying if I get like 3 entrants, or 10 entrants but only 3 entries

I'm absolutely stunned by Apple's Air Pods Max.
Its like this. You can buy a Playstation 5 or, for $50 more, these headphones.
Seriously. These headphones are $550. Not including sales tax.
I mean, I never buy Apple products anyway. But are there actual humans who would pay that? I'll bet the Samsung equivalent of these is $120

Literally how is this place still going after 7 years

Why are people always talking about 'framerates'??
When you buy a computer or a console or a monitor people always wanna know how many 'frames per second' it runs at. Who cares?! A second is a second. As long as a game can move your player from point a to point b in one second it doesn't matter how many images it draws in that time, be it 30, 60, 500 or 1.
Framerate is the least important aspect to gaming.
I can play Minecraft at 8 fps, and no one can tell me I can't!
Edit: I'm not being serious. This is an apparently poor attempt at humor, seeing as its difficult to convey sarcasm when its just text on a screen.
-
I'm honestly not a fan of /s, it kinda ruins the impact of using sarcasm. I think a better way to convey sarcasm would be either making very heavy use of words like "totally", using italics a lot and putting a few good counter-arguments in your statement while treating them as if they're stupid. And honestly I think Spontaneous Explosions here did a perfectly fine job at conveying sarcasm.
An example since I'm pretty terrible at explaining things:
"The 1911 is clearly the only good choice of handgun. I mean, come on! It won two world wars! Now, don't hit me with that 'Those were over 70 years ago' nonsense, it can't have been that long ago..."Another far easier but less subtle method is tO uSe CaPs LiKE aN ABsOlutE mADmAn.

You can play Minecraft at 8 FPS but it'd be pretty miserable.
Any game on low enough framerates will look very choppy and that'll do more than just harm immersion. Especially in FPS (first-person shooter not frames per second) games, you'll want to know the exact point something is at all times. You don't want things basically teleporting around if you're trying to line something (your crosshair for example) up with them.
And maybe at like 30-40 FPS (frames per second not first-person shooter) gameplay stops getting improved by higher framerates but having a higher framerate will make the game far more pleasant to look at. Generally 60 FPS is good enough for everything but some people still want more than that.
And framerates are perhaps most important in VR, where you'll want your arms to be where your arms actually are at all times and you'll likely get motion sickness if your head movement is even a little choppy.
If I had to pick between having all my games capped at 24 FPS or 480p (i normally go 1080p60 since that's my monitor's limit) I'd take the hit on resolution without a second thought.

These new YouTube buttons are garbage. The like button doesn't even turn blue anymore.
I am infuriated.

"Donald Trump plays Minecraft"
An epic tale, by me.
This is best read if you're familiar with his speech pattern.
So this is the game I've heard so much about. I know all about Minecraft, I've spoken with the best players in the country, great people, they're great people. But quite frankly, not very smart.
Can you believe this, they said to me, "Mr.President sir, with all due respect we could out-Minecraft you any day".
I said to them, "Excuse me, no. You're wrong. I have many, many friends who play Minecraft, and they told me all the things."
So you wonder what we're doing, you ask me what we're doing here, I'll tell ya'. We're winning. Winning at Minecraft.
So looking around I see grass, a lot of grass. The greenest grass the world has ever seen. And there's a cow. Bet you get a lotta steak outta that big guy, well done. A nice well done steak.
I look over at the plain of beautiful grass, I see a vision of a house. A tremendous house, bigger and better than anything that's ever been. We're going to build a house. We're gonna build a house, and the villagers are going to pay for it.
You ask me, Mr.President, how will we build a house? Well, we're going to punch trees. Punch many many huge, oak trees. I'm the best tree puncher, believe me. No one does it better. But We're gonna punch all these trees and craft them into things and place them down.Idk, I was bored.

I voted baby! Trump 2020!

@Voxy I suppose I should clarify, Daryl is a more extreme example.
Once somebody's actually racist or something equivalent then I can understand wanting to avoid them. But crap like that is very extreme, and very uncommon.
At the very least within the so-called Overton Window hating someone over their political opinions is needlessly hostile and counterproductive.

@Voxy Intolerance of intolerance is still intolerance. The reason people are being pushed to extremism is because people respond to anything they say with hate rather than civilized discussion.
As I mentioned earlier, Daryl Davis is a great example of how one should treat differing political opinions and the people that have them.
