Thanks for the kind words!   The Vector was one of the really early Armory guns and I never really got around to updating it because I hated making it in the first place.    I kinda want to go back and remaster the jankiest weapons sometime soon, and that'll definitely be one of them.

  2. holy crap this is pretty much mine-imator gun perfection

accurate to the real gun as much as it needs to be but also truly faithful to the minecraft art style

Sigh, not even adding my request (Springfield M1903) to the ww2 list.

I meant to add it, but I didn't have the time.    I'll try and get it done somewhere down the line when I find myself in the mood for working on the Armory again.

As for the future of the Armory:

Although this update's kinda meant as a way to close the Armory off, I do still enjoy working on it.     I'll likely keep updating the Armory periodically for atleast another year, it just won't be very frequently as I've got a load of other stuff I want to do.     Don't expect anything, but don't expect nothing.

Requests for the most part are closed and won't be re-opened, but if there's a specific weapon you want for a project I'll gladly make it for you right away - just shoot me a PM here or on Discord and I'll get it to you as quickly as I can, and it'll wind up on the Armory publicly shortly after.

Lastly, I just want to say thank you to everyone who's been involved with or used models from the Armory, I'm really amazed at how far this thing's managed to go thanks to y'all.

Oh, also a couple things about this update:

    1. I'm gonna try and make animations for a bunch of the guns here because currently very few have 'em, I will also try and do the same for some existing ones.
    2. If you run into any issues with anything here, please let me know and I'll try to fix them as soon as I can.   (may take a while anyways)

The muzzle flashes there are pretty simple particles really.    Turn off Spawn Constantly, use a small set of sprites out of the basic smoke particle, make 'em a randomized white-yellow-orange color, and make the animation stupid fast so they only show up for a frame or two.    Then just tweak everything else until you've got a look you like.    I'd personally recommend using a lot of randomization on the size and rotation of them.

so is the final update gonna come at new year or somewhere in january?

    Somewhere in January.

I would've picked a specific date but I don't yet know what days I work in January so I'm not sure when would be a good time to wrap up and post the update.   (usually it takes STUPID long to just post the finished updates for whatever reason, like a few hours)

  7. It's a little tough to say this, but here goes:

Over the past couple weeks, as I said I would, I've tried to get back into working on the Armory - but it's been going nowhere.    I've given it some thought and have come to the realization that I can't really continue this project as a consistent/major thing much longer, for several reasons such as diversifying interests, having a job now, general personal stuff, the fact that most of my friends on this site have mostly or completely moved on, and admittedly just losing some interest in the Armory itself.
So, as much as I'd like to keep this going forever, I simply no longer have the time to do this consistently without making myself miserable.

Now, I'm not going to just leave it at that and let it die just like that.    That'd be lame.
So I'm ditching the plans I had for a return update on the 28th of this month, and instead I'm going to get together all the unreleased stuff I've got laying around (mostly ww2 update stuff), remake the lowest quality weapons in the Armory, get the attachments in a better/more versatile state, and try to knock out a few requests and essential/iconic weapons, and put it all in one big 'ol update sometime in January to give the Armory a satisfying end and leave it in a state where there isn't anything I'm dissatisfied with.

I should note however, that this doesn't mean I will completely stop working on the Armory after that.    I've got some neat update ideas laying around and there's still an obscene amount of requests that I'd still rather get through if I can.      So chances are I'll set aside a couple weeks every now and then throughout 2022 and randomly release some weapons and stuff, it just won't be frequent or consistent.

Also it's probably obvious but I'm closing off requests for good now, although if someone urgently needs a specific gun for a project of theirs I'd be more than happy to set aside a little time to make it for them.

I want to end this post by just saying thank you so goddamn much to the people who helped out by making animations and weapons for this, made requests, made the original idea that I blantantly stole, and perhaps most of all those who used stuff from the Armory in their animations.  (except in monster school anims smh my head)
You guys made this project both possible and worthwhile, and this has really been one of the best parts of my life thus far.

  8. Hi, so, uhh, this is pretty embarassing.    I meant for this to just be a little break and then I'd come back with the WWII update, but instead I got sidetracked and made next to no progress.

I've come to realize that the WWII update is far too cumbersome of a project for me to just focus on solely (especially as my interests have branched out a lot over the past year so I've just got less time to dedicate to it), so I'm going to just keep it on the backburner and it'll come out whenever it's done.

In the meantime, I'm going to try and get back to regular bi-weekly updates.     It may take a couple weeks for me to get back into it as I'll likely need to reorient myself with regularly making gun models and stuff, but I SWEAR it won't take so absurdly long.

So, yeah, sorry if you were really looking forward to that or still need your requests done.    : /       It'll be done eventually, even if it's the last goddamn thing I do.

I think its time to make an update guys

    True.

I've ended up (of course ._.) taking a much larger break than I meant to as I've been distracted with other, completely unrelated projects.    The good news is that I'm conveniently done with all that as of today and I'm going to get back to work on the Armory very soon.     Regular updates are still probably a while away as I'm probably going to try and finally wrap up the WWII update, which is still nowhere near as close to done as it should be.

Could you make a Double Barrel? I can't find any good ones...

I've got a few double barrel shotguns already. (Remington M1900, Beretta 686)     Is there a specific kind you wanted or did you just miss them?

    -snip, ww2 update announcement-

So, that didn't exactly go as planned.    I ended up biting off way more than I could chew with this, and a year later it's still not really close to done.

This past year has been probably the most chaotic part of my life so far so it's been really tricky to keep up working on the WWII update (and the Armory in general).

So I just wanted to say, it's been ages but I've spent far too much time on it to cancel it, so the WWII update's going to happen eventually.    When?   I have no clue.   : /

  12. Update 33

    Weapons:

-Added the PGM Ultima Ratio for @PhiliP, specifically the Intervention model.
-Added the Chiappa Rhino 60DS for @r3d3mb3r
    -Added the Auto-5 for @Freddy

Also, I updated the APS a little bit.

Quick announcement:I've been a little worn out and the rest of my life's been a little hectic so I'm gonna take a little break from the Armory, or at least the consistent(-ish lmao) schedule.
I'll still probably upload a few animations and if anyone points out an issue with something I'll fix it right away, but don't expect any new models for now.

That being said I'm gonna make sure this doesn't get out of hand like it has before, so I'll get back to work on this before too terribly long.

Can some bode give a download link of every thing but without the ATTACHMENTS pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease??

What would you need every single weapon for?    Seems kinda pointless, especially since you definitely couldn't reasonably use them all in one project.

  14. Oh hey, it's cool to see you around here again.  : )

Since you kinda asked, here's some critique:

First off I'd recommend increasing the sunlight buffer size as much as you can (within your PC's limitations, not sure what your setup is), as they've been stretched out to the point that they're visibly blocky and a lot of the Steves don't have shadows, and those that do just have a square under them.     If they're still weird and blocky after that, you can put some blur on them and they should look alright.
Secondly, the lighting looks to be pretty much the default lighting which doesn't look very good IMO.    I'd recommend making the sunlight color a little less orange/yellow, but don't completely get rid of the tint.    As for the shadows, I think they would look better if they were a more cyan-ish color rather than the purplish blue they are right now.
Lastly for the lighting, it'd look a lot better if you moved the sun a bit so that it isn't directly overhead.    That way the sides of the buildings won't all be shadowed, and the shadows in general would just be more interesting to look at.

One more thing, there's a bit of stylistic inconsistency with the textures.    The sidewalk has a very simple, clean, contrasty style.  Most parts of the buildings have a smoothed-off but a bit more complex style, and the stone slabs are still default.    Most of the Steves have a simpler texture that fits well with the first two styles pretty well, but there are a handful that still have the default texture.  (On the balcony to the right, and in the cars)

Still, this is a really fun idea for a render, and is quite well done considering you haven't touched MI in 5 years.     Hope this helps, I hope I'll see more from you soon

  15. Update 32

    Weapons:

-Added the DC-17 Hand Blaster from the Star Wars series, requested by @OzFalcon
-Added the Ray Gun from the CoD Black Ops series, requested by @ZombieGuildford
-Added the PGM Hecate II anti-materiel rifle, requested by @Zman1der and @Extro

    Changes:

-Ever so slightly tweaked the Walther P5 and P5 Lang
-Added a new category, "Misc", for stuff that doesn't fit in the other categories unless I tried to shoehorn them in.    Mainly fictional weapons.

There was to be a fourth gun in this update, but I significantly underestimated how tricky the Ray Gun would be so I didn't have the time.    It'll be in the next one.

NEXT UP:Wow, even more requests.    Featuring the Chiappa Rhino.

  17. Update 31

I didn't actually mean to have two "Strikers" here and I made all the weapons here before I even realized I made two guns with basically the same name.     lol

    Weapons:

-Added the BR55 Service Rifle (Halo 2's Battle Rifle), requested by @YoshiHunter [Under Battle Rifles of course]
-Added the Striker-12, requested by @Primatium [Under Shotguns]
-Added the Striker pistol from the Hitman series, requested by @Mr.Matt, and the IRL weapon it was based on, the AMT Hardballer [Both under Handguns]

Unfortunately I probably won't be able to do the Plasma Cutter (from the Dead Space series, requested by HeYoNia) because there just isn't enough reference on it out there and it's too weird and foreign of a design for me to try and figure it out myself, so I just can't really do it justice.

    NEXT UP:Some more requests
