@Nedia I mean using folders to separate the x, y and z axes of movement so instead of moving someone's arm in a straight line, you can make an arc or just a wavy pattern of movement. It also helps a lot for physics-based movement such as jumping or animating debris from an explosion. Basically, each body part on my newer rig is nested inside three folders: (name of body part here) X, (name of body part here) Y and (name of body part here) Z, and then I use the body part for something like bending that can't be controlled by the folders or just don't animate it at all if it can't bend. I animate each axis of movement independently of the others so I get smoother, more free motions. Sorry if this sounds long-winded, but if you understood it you should test it out sometime and get comfortable with it.

@BaconSandwich I think I get what your saying. I do think that you can do that in Mine-imator, although you have to be quite clever with the tools that you have.

@NediaI have done it, that's what I was saying. It'll be included in the next update to my character rig along with some somewhat minor touch-ups here and there.
