Well, if you tell someone "The lighting sucks" it's not nearly as useful as telling them exactly what the problem is with the lighting so they can actually improve. It's better to elaborate on your criticism than to just dish out a sentence and leave.

Okay, I can agree with you being against the more obnoxious displays that rarely occur at parades. That's something I agree with and that's probably something you should've been more clear about, that would've avoided 47 paragraphs.
I really don't understand how it's wrong to want some time of awareness. Because this might as well be the only month in the year where the victims, the ones who are afraid of coming out, the one who are bullied, attacked, ostracized for being who they are can join their community, march down the streets and just be proud of who they are. We live in a society where heterosexuality and cisgenderism is the norm, and it reflects in a lot of aspects of our culture even today. You're probably against the concept of SJW-ing movies and shows, of showing more diversity for the sake of political correctness but it might just make people feel more accepted. So yes, I think the LGBT+ community deserve this month, and I hope they'll get many more Junes until they won't need to fight anymore, until they won't need to make themselves so visible just to remind the world that yes, they exist, and that yes, they would like society to evolve a bit so that they can truly feel at home, no matter where they are or who they are.

Except that... no. There are numerous countries where homosexuality is still illegal and sometimes punishable by death. And it's not the "occasional homophobe". People still face abuse and prosecution because of their sexuality and that is not okay, and trying to minimize the problem in such a way is really awful.
Yes, you're right. It does sound really petty. Nobody forces you to participate or celebrate it. You don't want to support it? Fair enough, you do you. Doesn't mean it has to be silenced or reduced just because you don't agree with it.
Again, this is a commemoration created by the LGBT+ community, for the LGBT+ community. It has nothing to do with a federal holiday. If you want to celebrate the fallen soldiers for a whole month, just do it. Nobody is keeping you from doing so, especially not other events like this one.
