The Rhapsodic Dude got a reaction from LacaMenDRY in BRING THE FORUM BACK TO LIFE! | Small Idea to Help the Mine-imator Forums Grow
Hey everyone!
I regularly check upon MI Forums eventually after every hour or two. And what I see, is that content is being posted in at least after 3-4hrs. HOW OFFLINE CAN BE A FORUM BE? I've heard that these forums were active some time ago, but now people have stopped looking on it. We need to do something to help this place nurture on its best! We can't just see the forums go into dump sites.
I had a small idea that might help bring more activity to the Mine-imator forums.
Many well-known members here also have YouTube channels, Discord servers, social media pages, or other communities. What if some of us added a link to the Mine-imator forums in our bio, description, or link section on those platforms?
Even something simple like:
“Find my models and posts on the Mine-imator Forums:”
(forum link)
It might seem small, but if a lot of creators do it, it could slowly bring more people into the forums. New users would discover the community, see the amazing models and animations here, and maybe start posting their own work too.
The Mine-imator forums are one of the best places for sharing rigs, models, help, and inspiration. A little visibility outside the forums could help keep the community active and growing.
Just a small suggestion, but I thought it might help!
What do you all think?
[It took me half an hour to type this, HOOF!]

The Rhapsodic Dude reacted to Nimi in BRING THE FORUM BACK TO LIFE! | Small Idea to Help the Mine-imator Forums Grow
Another dinosaur here. 👴 As Slime and Shane have said, users are posting their content elsewhere where it's more convenient and beneficial for them (forum rep doesn't get you exposure on twitter).
It doesn't help that with official feature development being over for Mine-imator, we're seeing a new age of mods branching off with their own exclusive features. There's not much point in sharing your cool new rig if it's only compatible with the mod you're using, with the mod only downloadable via a specific discord server. (there's like 4 or 5 mods out there now?) To add, other software such as Blender are making huge efforts to become easier to use, so power users don't have much reason to stick around if they're serious with pursuing animation.

At this point, this is an archeological digsite; Opinion from a third dinosaur (2015):
The age of the forums is long passed; ever since the launch of the Discord its just been significantly easier for the community to exist there. The forums have always been sort of jank, and the only people who bothered to keep up with maintenance of it are long since gone, or have moved onto the discord. In the context of file sharing, it makes even less sense to come here for rigs and models because you'd need a 3rd-Party file hosting service to offer a download, where as on discord its all built-in with the program itself. (Not considering Nitro limits)
The forums your looking for are what the Discord has become.
High volumes of traffic at this rate wouldn't serve the site well, and could lead to it going down or being significantly slower than it already can be. It's really still here just because it always has been, but that goes for any forum site.
Would it be cool? Sure, but it doesn't change that the website is a relic of a time that once was.

Fellow dinosaur from 2013/14 here. I'm honestly surprised people are still active here, let alone on forums as a whole. Last time I really saw this place active was around 2014-2015 (when I was still in middle school), but that could just be because Minecraft and animation were my hyperfixations back then. It's nice to see that the community is still alive and well though and that new members are still entering the scene. I hope you guys have as much fun with Mine-imator as I did back then!

The Rhapsodic Dude got a reaction from Minecrafted Animations in Is there ANY way to convert a Blockbench model made of meshes into a compatible model for 2.0.2 of Mine-imator?
Unfortunately, there's no official, native way of converting Blockbench models to Mine-imator models. Though there is a blockbench plugin that can do the job but it will not give an expected output, especially if your model has more meshes than cubes. If you need further assistance, feel free to reply...

What shall this be?
This Software calling for attention,
It has been a year since I've seen you the last time...
Barely had the time for anything and now you appear out of nowhere,
It will end the same way once the Summer is over,
don't get your hopes too high my friend...
But I do have unfinished business to attend to...

The Rhapsodic Dude reacted to Shane in BRING THE FORUM BACK TO LIFE! | Small Idea to Help the Mine-imator Forums Grow
Hi, Dinosaur from 2013 here.
I think the age of forums has sadly come to an end, and most people share their work primarily on social media.
I do like the initiative to link things back to the forums when interacting on other platforms, i like how the reputation system here gives people incentive to actually post and improve.

You could try adding some custom meshes (made in MI or MB) and add a little glow + transparency to them to make them go bloom with the scenery...
[Just a suggestion, I actually don't have much idea about these things]
