  1. ( Warning: Contains Blood ) Currently working on a digital painting with my boy Fosni using a new painting method to help me get out of line-art. Thoughts?

  3. Alright, I think it's best to just put all my thoughts in one place to make things clearer. I didn't really expect that revealing the new icon in a joke post would cause such a reaction. I initially dismissed it because, to be honest, the icon is a low priority for me, as there's a lot of stuff that still needs to be worked on to get the upcoming update ready, which is also why I wasn't very open to feedback, as I would much prefer to focus on getting feedback about the UI. I realize that was the wrong approach to the issue, hence why I'm writing this. Another reason is that the branding is a little different to how I planned it going forward. While currently, the icon and logo are sort of stuck together, I decided to separate it all out into three distinct bits: logo, icon, and mascots. I don't plan on changing that, they will remain separate. What is going to change is the icon itself. A recurring bit of criticism about the logo is that it doesn't feel related to Minecraft anymore. When I designed it, I just focused on making it readable. I tried to make it belong with the rest of the branding using evocative colors and shapes, but in the end, it appears that it lost too much character and ended up less appealing. As we speak, I'm currently working on a first iteration for a new design, which will hopefully tie-in with the program and the game it's based on: This new design is rather popular with the Mine-imator staff, and I hope it will be for the rest of you too. If there are any ideas or improvements you'd like to share, feel free to. Lastly, I'd like to apologize for my unprofessional and rude attitude. The rocky launch of Modelbench made it clear that transparency was important when it came to wanting to change how people use your program, but I hadn't realized that the icon would've been part of that too. I'll be sure to learn from that mistake and I hope we can move forward and work together in this next big step in the history of Mine-imator. Take care, y'all.

  7. Expect the next Mine-imator update this Friday (the 13th), including some bugfixes and the new bending mechanics for body parts! Modelbench will also be updated on this day, allowing you to create new models that bend in all possible directions. Get hyped!

  8. Shoutout to @Voxy for putting up with my constant requests for vague close-up shots of all the new UIs we've worked on through the years. ? Mine-imator Community Edition 1.1.0 (Cancelled, revealed in 2016) Modelbench Beta (2018) Modelbench 1.0.0 (2020) Mine-imator 2.0.0 (2022) Really happy to see this 6-year long journey of a new UI coming to Mine-imator come full-circle in 2.0. I had my doubts when I first became a developer in 2017, but I'm glad we were persistent.

  11. So I designed a junkyard robot or something and I thought the outcome was pretty alright. This final outcome wasn't exactly what I was going for. I'm learning a bit of digital painting from a video tutorial that I bought the other day and well I'm stuck with having lines in my art until I can find an easy way to remove the lines because it looks like this with the lines removed. I pretty much just wanted to share my first artwork with the public using this new method. Off topic: I just now saw that you can only like/dislike so much a day now, that sucks.

  13. I haven't uploaded anything here in a while. So I guess I'll share some more drawings and doodles I did. I'm really just drawing any character or ideas that pop into my head lately. It gives me a chance to expand my range of art I guess on what I can and can't draw. I do have an animation planned in the making if anyone is wondering.

  14. In the next Modelbench release, saving will no longer be prevented regardless of errors in your model. You'll still get a warning of some sort describing what's wrong though.

  18. You may not know it, but the mod(Mine-imator Community Build) has caused me a lot of stress over the past months. With it's rising popularity in the community, it made me(Not so much Emunator.) look like I knew everything about Mine-imator's code; Whether or not a feature would work, or how to fix any error. Due to the popularity of the mod, I sometimes regret going to Emunator and asking him about merging all of our mods and making a community build of Mine-imator. Almost everyday I get multiple reports of people having problems with the mod, and then having to take the time(that could be used to develop the next and final update) to help the users because they believe I know how to fix anything because I made most of the mod.(Most errors originating from the standard release of Mine-imator has.) With the large user base the mod has made, it's made the weight of the project a lot heavier on my shoulders, and making me responsible for any and all accidental damage the mod may have done to projects/ rigs.(Which I would very likely not know the cause of.) Since I can't transition the rest very well, I'll just list them. 1.) I stopped taking suggestions due to wanting to focus more on the update and get what needed to be done, done. But as of right now, the mod is in a limbo state. Right now two features(that were not on the original to-do list for 1.1.0) are dragging the release further and further, and I have no idea how to implement such features. 2.) 1.1.0 is going to be the final update for Mine-imator: Community Build/ Edition, as both Emunator and I have both agreed that it would considered a finished project after the update. 3.) I honestly do not know when the update is going to be released. It's been pushed back so many times, from late December, to early January, to late January, ect. I do not see the mod being released anytime soon with it being in the condition it is now. 4.) The mod will likely not be updated with new mobs and blocks in the future after 1.1.0 as I want to move onto other programming projects after the mod. 5.) Please don't give others the impression that I know everything about Mine-imator and how to fix any issues/ errors. I likely know just as much as you do about them.

  21. I decided to make a render/edit of a samurai dude that @LIsPixel re-created for me a while back in Cinema 4D. I saw his recent topic and that gave me the idea to make a wallpaper for this character I have. Plus I haven't really had the time to do things I wanted to lately. I used Cinema 4D to render the image, by the way. I really like how this one came out, but that's just me, what do you think of when you look at this guy?

Pretty disappointed in a few members for how they've been acting recently, though while not breaking any forum rules. Regardless of how any situation started-- take the time to stop, grow up, and move on. That is all.

  33. Hey all! Yesterday, I wrote an announcement regarding the surprise reveal of what was then going to be the new icon for Mine-imator going forward, and how the negative reception of it made me reconsider this design choice. I took this opportunity to show you a different take on the icon, and judging by the overwhelmingly positive reactions, I think it's fair to say that we've got a winner on our hands! After a few minor tweaks and touch ups, I believe it's ready, waiting to be used once Mine-imator 1.3 launches. But wait, what about Modelbench? Well, obviously I couldn't leave its icon untouched! After all, the goal of the rebrand is to unify both apps into one identity, so it's only natural to give it a fancy new icon as well! There was one challenge to overcome. What could we put in that colorful hexagon? Putting a bunch of cubes seemed like an obvious answer, but it just didn't look quite right... The Mine-imator icon had a 3D, Minecraft styled item inside that hexagon, so... Modelbench would have to follow that template, or else it just wouldn't work. But what kind of item should it be? What object is best suited to illustrate the modeling process? What about a hammer? This was an idea from Nimi, that he had while we brainstormed. It could work, you can build stuff with one of those. The question was now, "what should it look like?". His proposal was a blacksmith's hammer, but I felt like it didn't fit the program's name too well. After all, it's called Modelbench, not Modelforge... (that would've been a neat name, though!) So, in the end, we settled on the good old claw hammer. And after a bit of quick rigging and tracing... Here they are! The Mine-imator family now has its own set of icons! I hope you'll like it just as much as the one I've shown yesterday, and once again, please share any feedback you might have! See you around!

  35. In 1.1.0, bloom is getting updated. Instead of the blur being biased towards the longer dimension, it's now an even gaussian blur. Left: Community Build 1.0.2 Right: Community Edition 1.1.0 In the camera settings, the settings have been flipped(less means less, instead of more visible) and now go from 0% to 100% instead of going from 0 to 1. So now when you import a camera with both settings being 0%, you won't get blinded. Thanks to the blur being different, you can change the blur radius in the render settings.
