    Tonight was a night to remember, i went to my first party! i didn't drink though, i don't feel comfortable doing that. Plus, i need to get home someway. Either way, its 2 am and i should start heading home. I got in my SUV with some of my friends. My other friends were.. mildly drunk, so i was driving obviously. They were having a good time, recording themselves in the back of the SUV and talking about how great their night was. Even in their drunken state, they still remember to record those stupid videos for their future selves. They just talk about how their day was and what they wanna do in the future. About half way through the drive, we were just driving through the trees, nothing much was happening, besides the night sky looking much better than usual. Suddenly, the SUV started shaking, like something was hitting it slightly. All of my friends in the vehicle got up and tried focusing on the bumping. The bumping grew stronger, to the point where it starting shaking the SUV side to side. everyone in the SUV was freaking out, they didn't know what was going on, but something was rocking the car, and it couldn't of been a normal animal. After awhile, we left the forest area of the drive and the bumping stopped, and we all just went into silence. One of my friends with the camera said, "Uhh... I think i have footage of whatever it is..", I requested to see it when we get to the house and he agrees. We finish the rest of the drive without issues, so when we get home he gives me the camera and i look onto the footage. I watch for a bit and don't see much, besides a weird gray blur every once in a while. Then.. when we leave the forest section.. the footage shows this long, grossly unproportionate, creature that has legs almost 7 feet long. It moves extremely fast along the road. I just stood and paused on one frame. i don't know what to think. I gave him his camera and told him thank you. I'm probably gonna rest and forget about what i saw.

  17. Greetings everyone! In this dev update, I'll be covering a handful of new features I've been working on for Mine-imator 1.3.0. However, before we dive into the following eye candy, I want to mention that due to the sheer size of this update, its official release is not in the near future-- and doesn't have an ETA. Unlike the past two updates, 1.1.0 and 1.2.0, this update includes a variety of goals. This includes an effort to improve rendering, animation workflow, and the interface along with adding new features that may come with them. Though during development, I'll be posting dev updates more often to give insight on how development is going. With that being said, this post will highlight a couple of the first big improvements to come to the update. Renders used in this dev update were made by @Hozq. Lighting improvements The way lighting is applied to objects has changed in 1.3.0. Before, ambiance only affected dark areas, but now, ambiance is applied more accurately to the scene by being applied additively to pre-existing lighting in the scene. This allows for brighter scenes and improves the appearance of dark areas such as areas with AO. Changes to shadows Shadows are getting a significant upgrade in 1.3.0. Previously, shadows used a method that would blur all shadows in the scene. Now, shadows are rendered multiple times determined by a new samples setting that scatters the shadow maps of lights around, allowing for shadows to be harder near its caster, and softer the further away it is. (Also to clear up a misconception, this is not PCSS. ) An improvement was also made to the way sun shadows are cast, allowing the sun to act as a proper directional light in the scene. Volumetric rays This feature has been requested many times over the past few years, and is finally being added to 1.3.0. However due to (technical) restrictions, the rays are only available for the sun. These rays are not rendered in screen-space and will appear even if the sun is not in-frame. As mentioned before, rendering isn't the only aspect of Mine-imator that will be getting improvements though however, that's the first part of this update I'll be tackling so it may be a while till other features are shown off.   21. FPS is boosted when you hide objects in the timeline. Volumetric rays are coming to MI 1.3, but there's no set release date yet. Reflections are possible, but Nimi will not be adding them. To my knowledge, Nimi may leave the developer team after 1.3 (correct me if I'm wrong). Another developer along the road could possibly add them, but that could be years from now. Apparently the entire particle system is extremely messy in the code and messing with it could lead to more issues. This may come in the future with a rewrite, but definitely not now,

  26. Agree. Mine-Imator was built for Minecraft related stuff, this would be largely unaccepted by the community, although I do wanna say it’s still impressive for something that only works with Minecraft!

  28. Good start! I don't see the main issue with the glowstone but like you said, maybe bring out the shadows more? Also, maybe try using a custom sky for the nighttime scene if you find your lighting to be too bland. I always try to use something like a skybox and then play around with the camera settings to improve the scene a bit.

    Update 17: Only one gun, but it's a damn fine gun. The Fusil Tactique Modele 2009. (Tactical Rifle Model of 2009 in English, and FT 2009 for short) A French close-quarters battle rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, and based on the highly successful Chauchat light machine gun introduced all the way back in 1915 and still in service to this day. The FT 2009 was adopted in 2009 for a close-quarters combat role as the FAMAS assault rifles didn't have sufficient stopping power, and has been proven in combat time and time again. Due to its immense success it has started to replace the Chauchat itself in the LMG/SAW role, fitted with a bipod. Some are built off original WW1-era Chauchats, and others are built from the ground up by Nexter Systems. (formerly GIAT Industries) It's also normally fitted with a suppressor, but I didn't have the time to make one today.
