Sub Surface Scattering or improved Bleed Light
Frost and 8 others reacted to Jossamations for a topic
Sub Surface Scattering is the effect you get when you put your fingers in-front of a flashlight, A lot like the already existing "Bleed Light" Option, However Bleed light has a couple of problems that could be changed, 1. Blurrier Light Bleeding. - Bleed Light is already a great option in Mine Imator, And Extremely similar to Sub Surface Scattering (SSS), But There's a big difference. The Images at the end of this post are a comparison of Bleed Light and Sub Surface Scattering/ 2. Less Harsh light. - Something about the Bleed Light Option has very harsh light while SSS Is more subtle and soft. And adds a nice effect to images using it (Thanks to DarthLilo for making the Image with SSS Below.) 3. Inability to Control the effects of Bleed Light - Bleed Light isn't very flexible of an option, you kinda just turn it on and work with it and a lot of the time it doesn't fit the style of a lot of images. So maybe have it act like a camera setting, You can change the Blur, Intensity and Color of The Bleed Light effect. Its a very subtle effect but it adds a smoothness feel to the image. For those of you who read this thank you. And I hope the Mine Imator Dev Team will take this into consideration. Thanks!9 points -
Minecraft sounds library
Bronze and 6 others reacted to MojangYang for a topic
Currently, all audio and sounds can be added into mine imator projects, but all of them need to be imported from external audio files, including the minecraft sounds. SO I think a library containing all basic minecraft sounds will be extremely helpful. So when you click the “add sound” button in the audio’s property, instead of being asked to select an audio file immediately, there should be a drop-down menu of 2 selections: one for importing external files, the other for choosing minecraft sounds from a library.7 points -
2 New grid snap settings.
Jake_28 and 4 others reacted to Spontaneous Explosions for a topic
So I was using Blockbench yesterday, and discovered it has this feature where you can hold down CTL or SHIFT to change the grip snap size as long as it's held. I though this would be a great feature For MIne-imator(and Modelbench, come to think of it). Lets suppose the default settings for this SHIFT grid snap is 1 pixel, and CTL is 0.5 pixels(These are the 2 value I often use when using MI, just me). In the work window you grab the 3d arrow thingy and drag it, while holding SHIFT. As you hold SHIFT the grid snap is 1 pixel, and when you release it goes back to 0. A simple feature, but personally I would find it quite handy as I often have to change the snap size from 1 to 0.5, back and forth. This could speed up the process. And if 1 and 0.5 seem strange, it could be SHIFT is 16 pixels, and CTL is 8 pixels or something. Regardless of the default it could be changed in settings. Now, this would also work for rotation, and maybe bending as well. Tell me what you think of the idea, or tell me If i'm confusing...5 points -

Problem is, I don't know if you can actually access the skin database from the Xbox Live servers. Also, since a lot of skins included in DLC packs actually change the player model, this would break things pretty quickly if you tried applying it to the default Steve/Alex models. Not to mention the potential legal issues of letting people freely download paid resources...4 points

I've actually been compiling those sounds myself for a while now. Interestingly, the sound files are still there, but they're scattered inside the "assets" folder of the main directory. They also don't have any extensions, and they're given random names like "b68f15789dba02714352f90f2f3f2f966a4360bd". It's still an .ogg file, however! If you took that file and renamed it to add the .ogg extension yourself, it would work! Back when I started doing this, I actually did all that renaming manually. Thankfully, since then people started making tools to do all that work for you. This is the one I currently use.2 points

Mine-Imator: Dungeons Rigpack v1
MFF TELUGU GAMING reacted to ShinyGHASTTear for a topic
It's an old post. Please go to the NEWER VERSION! a new rig pack by me, YM Hello, Yanuar Mohendra here. And this time I'm proudly present to you my latest creation, Mine-Imator: Dungeons RigPack! ...v1 thanks to @Ian_The_One for helping me on making this rig pack ... (the cobweb texture that you've given to me isn't in this rigpack archive cuz i've uploaded it to mediafire before you gave it) This rig pack is actually not done yet, but it's enough for you guys to use it. I'll update the rig pack whenever I've made a new mc:d stuff. Also, I will add "how to use some rig" here in this post tomorrow, so don't forget to follow this post! So what's on this rig pack? There are some mobs that appear in the mc:d gameplay reveal trailer, the character menu gui and two modelbench creation block that's cobweb and 3d book. The mobs that included in this rigpack: - Redstone Monstrosity - Key Golem - Arch-Illager - The Nameless One - The Blue Thing (it's a made up name) - Ghost (don't have a name yet) - Skeleton Vanguard - Illager custom model I also made a better foliage alike leaves block model for use. You can find how to use it on this post, but the difference is it's just need to copy the .json model to MI data folder. And I also upload a mc:d fiery forge resource pack I've made that's actually not done, so stay tune on this post for the next update. You should copy the .json models from this resource pack just like the leaves model does. You can dowload the rigpack now here: download resource packs: made by. Yanuar Mohendra1 point -

There's a neat feature on Mine-Imator that allows you to get any MC: Java skin from typing the skin's name. It would be great adding this feature for MC: BE skins too.1 point

Minecraft sounds library
MojangYang reacted to Voxy for a topic
Sounds good on paper, but it's way too impractical in practice. If you want a neat list like for mobs and special blocks, then you'll need to create an index file for it, that tells the program what categories there are in the UI, and where the files would be located. Since there are almost 1800 sound files, that represents a lot of work to create said list, and it would need to be updated each time a new Minecraft version releases. Not to mention you'd also need to give each file a proper, less cryptic name in the language files, which makes the challenging translation work even more time consuming. The other problem is that you'll need to load the sound files on startup, along with all the other assets (blocks, models, textures). Currently, said assets only make up 3 megabytes of data. However, throw in the sounds, and suddenly you have to load 160MB worth of files whenever you start Mine-imator, which would slow it down a ton. So really, the only reasonable solution would be to handle it like default schematics, meaning they're bundled with the program, but you'd still need to browse your files to grab the sound you need, which... isn't too different from how it works now. ?1 point -

I was thinking of making a comic series based on a post apocalyptic world. This is a test render of what It might look like. However, I'm not sure if anyone would even like a comic series based on a post apocalyptic world. Anyway, take this test render.1 point -

This is a great idea, dunno if it's possible given the limits of GameMaker and/or the devs and/or MI's messy code. This is about the best look I can get with "Bleed light", but it's still harsh light, and would be nice if it could be softer. I think the most logically possible option would be a setting in a character's properties tab with a few sliders under bleed light like "Strength" and "depth" idk.1 point
