Realistic Water Rig for Mine-Imator 1.2.4
DCTAnimations and 8 others reacted to Keep on Chucking for a topic
This rig uses multiple multiply surfaces to create a water depth effect, making the water look more realistic. I decided that rather than just making a tutorial, I'd simply just make it a download, there's two different versions that you'll be able to download. You can use this rig for your animations and projects, but credit to either this post or the video link are r e a l l y appreciated. Screenshots: Video Showcase: Downloads: Current version: (1.2) 22nd May 2019 (Updated links to new location 21st May 2020) Realistic: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bmw1SPoo7edvhaG_eneEw8bj9zTkWoos/view Minecraft Styled: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rxg5Lj6cALQ2F9ajZRqGEEwLowuERqLf/view Known Issues: Apparently there's still people dealing with crashes when trying to delete the rig, I'd suggest importing this when you're almost finished with your project and using a surface or the regular water as a reference for where the water will be in the meantime, it doesn't seem to have the crashing issue for me so I'm assuming it's hardware related (slow pc) for the people experiencing the issue. Changelog: Planned changes (Expected release:? ) : Legacy Downloads:9 points -

Hey animators! It appears that some of you weren't happy to discover that Mine-imator would use the new Village & Pillage textures from now on. So to fix this, here's a link to a downloadable version of the "Programmer Art" resource pack included in the game! Enjoy!5 points

1989 like render (First attempt)
Dawid24M and 3 others reacted to Mineshaft Animation for a topic
LD truck by: @Ghatos 2011 Crown victoria (remodeled to be a 1988 CV) by: @MineRig Other cars by: @Dawid24M The map itself (not including the default MI-buildings) made by: Me JUST TO ADD: I've noticed something while looking through old photos taken by my dad and it was that the saturation was very vibrant, so to keep it realistic to that I decided to do the same to the render itself. Also thankfully Dawid modeled his vehicles to look like they were made in the 80s, so it saved me the trouble from bothering Minerig... (again)4 points -

Keep on Chucking and 2 others reacted to Playground for a topic
Hey! I'm Playground. I recently found Mine-Imator looking at random minecraft animations and it really peaked my interest. I've had a small bit of animating experience messing around with a program called Pivot, a simple stickman-based animation software thing. Coming across Mine-Imator reminded me of the fun I had making silly stickman animations so I decided to try Mine-Imator out and see how it went. It was really fun! I couldn't find any other mode of introducing myself on this site so I guess someone'll take notice of this here. -------------------------------- I used a low framerate and used instant transitioning bc I'm just not used to using 3D programs or tweening and I wanted to simulate something like Into the Spiderverse's style.3 points -

Looks pretty good, I like it! Shame you stole it from shutterstock. There are a few things I dislike about it though. It's so low res!!! What the hell, it's 1004x431, what even is that aspect ratio? Some of the textures look quite stretched and or low res (Unless it only looks low res thanks to the image res). Example of a stretched + low res texture: The lighting looks a bit weird, thanks to the faked PCSS I'm guessing? For example, it looks green around the shadows. The shadows look very purple, they should be way more blue and possibly lighter as well. Faked GI would definitely help. I'd say it's hard to make out much from the image, maybe moving the camera back and making it obvious this is the front of a house would help.1 point

What if someone made a mod in mine-imator that had a chat and server kinda thing, and you could project from the server host, and if someone’s editing an object, it would turn grey and have low alpha or something, you could set limits to downloading or have a toggle to make automatically downloaded assets hidden in non rendered mode, imported assets would be automatically downloaded to the other users computers ofc, and you could kick or ban people from joining the server IP. I mean, WE WANT MULTI-USER MINEIMATOR!!! (Well they would be working in separate editors ect but meh) (also that sentence made no sense I should prolly rewrite it but I’m too lazy) ok rewrite time What if someone made a mod for MI that added a chat and server system? So, someone could join using IP, PORT, and KEY fields (key is a password) and they would download all of the project assets onto their computer (just gonna add here, maybe in a new directory like collaborative-projects). When a user edits an object, it turns grey and loses some alpha and becomes un-editable for other users. The host could ban or kick users from the server and delete user messages, and have to option to remove all changes or x amount of changes from the kicked / banned user. (Like the undo system). If a user imports assets they get downloaded to the other users computers automatically, and will be hidden in low quality mode (toggleable). also the mod could be a separate client from normal mine-imator ofc1 point

It's a hand model! It changes itself with the skin. There's two versions. 3 Pixel arms (Alex) & 4 Pixel arms (Steve) Applying it is as simple as just parenting the hands to the arms of a character! No skin editing required. Please be sure to credit me if you use this model in any bigger projects. Thank you.1 point

An Idiot's Guide to Render Depth
Anthony's Rigs reacted to empirebuilder1 for a topic
Having just decided to spend some actual time on animations lately, I've run into brick walls more times than I can count with visual glitches that I thought were bugs in the program. Blocks not showing up through glass, water getting lit when it should be dark, etc. They're not bugs, though. They're simply a victim of the Render Depth setting. Render Depth is a simple numeric value that tells Mineimator which objects to render first. By default, Mineimator sets all imported objects to Depth 0, which is probably fine for basic animations, but I quickly got into projects that couldn't just have everything rendered in one path. Otherwise stuff like this happens: Render Depth acts like a sorted list, so an object with render depth 0 is going to render first. The next object with render depth 1 goes next, applying whatever scene changes the first render pass created. Then objects with depth 2, 3, 4 and so on. The result is a stacking render that can be used for some interesting effects (or brain-bending glitches!) The glitch above happened when a fully enclosed structure (with a canal through the center) and the water were imported as separate objects. The water (which defaulted to Depth 0) was rendering first, where it was open to the sky and thus illuminated. The overarching structure (which I somehow managed to fumble into Depth 5) was then rendering around it, causing the water to be illuminated within an otherwise dark scene. So before you go running off to the help forums (or the bug report page) to complain about situations like above, check your render depth settings. As a general rule, you want your scenery to render first, then blocks, then items/players, then particles. However, some situations (generally involving colored glass from my experience) may require that the scenery be rendered last. You'll just have to figure it out on a case-by-case basis. [I may come back and edit this later with some more details and image examples, but I haven't the time right now.]1 point -
