  1. So, out of the blue, I decided to load up a decently large chunk of land and render it just because. The image was 22MB and Imgur wouldn't let me upload it, so I had to find an alternative website. I hope the image wasn't compressed too much. Anyway, that's all!

    The Modelbench Armory

Lovely banner by OzFalcon Latest update: January 28, 2022 - Update 34 NO LONGER TAKING REQUESTS The Modelbench Armory is a collection of weapon models made for Mine-Imator users to use in animations, still renders, or anything else you can think of. Feel free to use them for whatever you please, no need to give credit although it is appreciated. Sounds are included with all gun models, although I recommend you use your own for more consistency. The Modelbench Armory is conceptually based on Überkiller's now-defunct Mine-Imator Armory. Thanks to @MYSELF3200, @CodyBI, @Slime, @Hozq, @OzFalcon, and @Duychung for their help with the Armory. Frequently asked questions: Terms of use: Some very basic tips/advice: WEAPONS Assault rifles & carbines: Battle rifles & DMRs: Single-action rifles: Anti-materiel rifles: Machine guns: Submachine guns: Handguns: Shotguns: Explosives & launchers: Melee weapons: Misc: ATTACHMENTS Every attachment has an attachment type in parentheses, and should (atleast within realistic bounds, you can do whatever you want really) only be attached to weapons with that attachment type. These are pretty much only meant for firearms, not melee weapons or anything else like that. You can find what attachment type(s) a weapon has in its info .txt file, if applicable. The "Custom" attachment type means it doesn't use any standard mounts and is generally attached to a gun permanently. Muzzle devices instead have what round they're meant for in parentheses, and should generally only be used on guns with a matching or comparable cartridge if you want to keep things realistic. Also please note that magnified sights do not include any zoom/magnification setups, and you'll have to set those up however you want to get a zoom effect. Grips & bipods: Muzzle devices: Close-range sights: Medium-long range sights: Underbarrel weapons & bayonets: Other attachments: Thanks for taking the time to look at this, I hope it's helpful.

  12. Because nobody likes seeing wallpapers with lazily posed characters in vast and boring grassy fields, I bring to you "How to Make Wallpapers Properly", a place where everyone can learn how to improve their Mine-imator creations. This collection of tips is mainly aimed at beginners, but I'm sure more experienced people might learn a trick or two! If there's a topic you'd like me to cover in future tips, please let me know! Enjoy!

  14. Hello! Long time I haven't posted something. Well, I've been busy with a rig I've promised I would be releasing to the public. And here you have it! I present to you, Cherno Alpha, my favourite mech design from the movie Pacific Rim. An absolute beast, lots of details to play around with it. It includes various animatable mechanisms throughout his body, as well as 54 rotation points (yes I've counted them) to make sure you can give it literally any pose you want with maximum precision. Mind you that as a consequence of this, it's very hard to use. The timeline is a mess but I've organized it in the most comprehensible/user friendly way I could. If you attempt to use it then I assume you're gonna have a hard time at first but eventually you can get the job done. DETAILS SHOWCASE: ===================================================================================================================================== Now you may be wondering, is it even possible to animate this thing in MI? And yes, it is, just with a bit of lag. Put it on maximum quality for best viewing experience. Enjoy. CLICK HERE TO DOWLOAD! (108.28 KB) Make sure to read the text inside the .zip file. Enjoy the rig!

  15. Divided is most definetely my most successful animation I've ever made. It consists of 4 episodes, the fourth one premiering on April 17th - in 5 days as of writing this post. It's a story about depression based on real life. It's shown in a graphical way, where the protagonist has manifested his depression into a physical being and fights it in his head. The story has also got a lot to do with the events taking place in real life, abandoning friends, and so on and it includes a lot of psychological metaphores. It shows really deeply the effects of depression, how it can "devour" an individual from the inside and what an absolutely crucial role is being played by the pacient's friends and family. Divided itself is a project that has took me 3 years and a month to finish: from the episode 1, where my skill was not nearly on the level it currently is, till the final episode, premiering in a few days, while throughout the story I've prograssed and learned, becoming better and better as it went. Each episode took 3-6 months to being finished, with a 2 months break in between, except episode four (the one premiering). Episode 4 took a year and a half, with the first planning started in December, 2017. It started with the script, upgrading the rigs, building the worlds, later on the storyboard, contacting people and auditioning for voice actors and over the course, up till now, the lovely piece of art was growing. It took more than 4000 hours of work, 10 acts, 7 voice actors (recycling voices for several roles), over 2600 blocks being animated by hand, a lot of nerves and a lot of emotional support from other people (who I'd like to thank). It was made to wrap up the story in a spectacle and a meaningful emotional twist. A lot of credit goes to my YouTube partner, Freedom!, for providing me the access to licenced music, which has made the overall experience better on a whole another level - despite the fact that I still had to compose the soundtrack myself, using all the available material and properly crediting them in the end credits. Preproduction and production Animation was most definetely not everything there was needed to be done, of course: - First I needed a script (which I had written in the school cafeteria on a sheet of paper, ripped out of my notebook, and was later on written in the proper script format) - Afterwards, I required all the skins, rigs, voice actors, worlds, and assets that I would use in my animation - The storyboard, with individual shot lengths - A customly made soundtrack, based off which I would sync my animation (the first version including only the voices, and urgently timed events and adding the rest - such as footsteps, cloth sound effects and music - later in post-production) - Then I've tackled the animating part, which took most of the time, going at a rate of 1 second of animation being made every 2 hours or so; exporting the animation in bits of 20 seconds to prevent lagg and improove organization - going through the animation several times to add lighting, camera effects, fix minorities, animate statists, etc. Postproduction After the animation was exported, my work was FAR from done! I had to: - Open the animation in After Effects and create VFX, correct colors, etc. and render it (extra 10h of work per 20s of animated sequence) - Compress the file with professional software - Throw bits of the animation in my Premiere Pro project, arrange them and add every single possible occuring sound effect, going through several times to further correct colors, make sure the sound levels are plausible - Export individual acts as video files Post-postproduction At the end, I had to: - Merge all the uncompressed Premiere Pro project files into one super large one, to prevent quality loss - Do a double-check on sound, replace some sound effects, make sure the volume is right for individual sound effects (over 500 sound effects) - Manually color correct every single camera shot in the entire animation (over 1000 shots) - Run through the entire library of used sources, such as music, rigs, assets and even induvidual skins appearing in the background of the animation - Alphabetically organise the sources and form them into groups - Make the end credits - Export Divided 4 entirely I am currently at the final stage, where I'm raising awareness of the animation to put the year and a half worth of work into use - also known as advertising It's been a long journey and I'm proud of where the animation, that started as a small project and emerged into an enormous story, has gotten. Thanks again for everyone who has helped me with the work, all the statists, all the people from who I just took some of the rigs without them knowing (they are credited in the end credits though), and to all my viewers who were patient enough and understanding. Now i keep blubbering about some "premiere", but never show anything, so here is the link to the final Divided 4 finished animation - and you're all more than welcome to come join us at the premiere on April 17th, 5PM CET time. Thank you all for standing by my side and Stay Sharp!

  28. Hello everyone, and to kick things off, happy holidays! This year has undoubtedly been a big year for Mine-imator, David, and myself. Starting off with the public beta release of Modelbench in the spring, and topping off with the much anticipated 1.2.0 update! Along with the transition of the lead developer from being the glorious David over to myself as of recently. Now there are some things I'd like to address since my last dev update in July: College Since August, I've been enrolled in a technical college, trying to go for an Associate in Applied Science degree in these next couple years. Despite only being two years, it'll still require a bit of time and focus to get through the course. Motivation/Stress Being the only current developer working on both Mine-imator and Modelbench, while also being enrolled in college and keeping up with personal responsibilities is no easy task by any means. Programming Modelbench and Mine-imator (including mods I've made) for roughly over 2 years without any sort of hiatus has been pretty tiring. With that said, please understand that development on Mine-imator will not be up to par like it has been in prior years. (Though this may be subject to change with another developer... ) Now of course, Modelbench as a whole nor most of 1.2 would be possible if David didn't teach me the ins and outs of developing Mine-imator code throughout 2016 and up until I became the lead developer. He was a big help in my journey in becoming a better and more professional developer, and if given the chance, I would like to collaborate with him more in the future if possible whenever it's my time to move on from Mine-imator. So with 2018 setting on the horizon, what's to expect in 2019? Well... Improved bending and fixed 3D planes!? More details to come next year, still being experimented with at the moment. Modelbench 1.0's release Mine-imator 1.3 to begin development Anyways, with 2018 soon to be wrapped up, it's now time to get hyped for what's in store in 2019! So once again, Happy holidays!

  32. Recently I lost all my Minecraft Java worlds, including the unfinished schematic for my next animation. I've been trying everything I can to get it back, so I can get a new animation out as soon as possible. I'm incredibly sorry to anybody who was hoping to see an animation from me anytime soon. I'll try my best to recreate it, but it may take a while.
