Listen, I don't mean to say the forums look bad or boring (still debatable), but it's definitely outdated to say the least. It uses the default color scheme that comes with the Invision package, same default layout, everything. Not to mention the fact Invision has been putting out numerous new features and not one of them is being used. Of course, none of this stuff is really necessary, some of them would just be nice I think (file sharing and gallery are already out of the question though for storage reasons). I tried out a little demo and had a bunch of users test out each of these (except e-commerce for obvious reasons). All of them were tested but the one that really stood out I think was the Clubs feature. It basically lets your users create small groups together, which would be perfect for animation teams, collab organization, etc. Plus there are a lot of options you can give or take. There are a whole bunch of different options that you can give in terms of clubs. You can change how exclusive individual clubs are, you can give them a mini forum category inside the club itself, you can even use it in tandem with the Calendars feature so they can schedule certain events as a group, such as the release of a certain animation or the deadline for a collab (that collab deadline thing would be a huge reason to include the Calendar feature). Plus you can make it so mods have to approve clubs after being made before they're usable (which might be appealing to this particular community). That is why I think the Clubs feature would be a very useful thing to have considering the nature of the forums. And then, there's the design of the website itself. It's pretty outdated. It looks okay, but it could definitely be spruced up a bit with a modern, Modelbench-like color-scheme. The current scheme may have worked for older versions of Mine-imator, but now we have a shiny new concept for Modelbench that looks so much more colorful, elegant, and still professional. Perhaps Voxy could help out a bit and you can update the colors a little? That would be very fantastic. Apparently I'm not the only one with this opinion I've found. Thanks!3 points

Honestly, I only see one problem with this. That is, the clubs possibly resulting in drama similar to how forum teams did back when they were widespread. Besides that, and even then I'd imagine a way to prevent that from happening (or at least reducing the frequency if it does happen), I have no problem with implementing some of IPBoard's newer features and giving the forums a bit of a spruce-up whatsoever.2 points -

How to make a Nova Skin wallpaper. If you don't know, a nova skin wallpaper is a wallpaper that you can change the skins of players in that picture. See for yourself here https://minecraft.novaskin.me/wallpapers. Recently, @Nimi made a nova skin render and a good majority of people were wondering how it was made. Now I will tell you. First, you will need this skin: Second, make your scene and for all the players you want to be changeable, use this skin. Now onto making the renders. For this, you want to make the players have a mix color of white, and percent of 100 and a brightness of 100. And make sure the hat layer is NOT VISIBLE. It should look like this: When you render it, name it background0000 and make sure it is png. Next, reset the values that you just changed. Leave the hat invisible. Render this one as background0001. It should look like this: Now, make everything's mix color white. Leave the brightness as is. Render it without hat and name it layer_ao0001, then render it with the hat, name it layer_ao0002. It should look like this: You're halfway there! For this render, make everything's brightness 100. Make sure that the ambient color is reset to normal in the background tab for these two. Render one without the hat and name it layer_matcolor0001, and render one with the hat, name it layer_matcolor0002. Should look like this: Now the final 2 images! Turn the backgrounds mix percent to 100 and color to black. Make the player's mix color white, and percent 100, and brightness 100. Make sure that anything else that isn't a player is black. Render this without the hat and call it layer_object_1_0001. Now make everything BUT the hat black, so that only the hat is white. Render this and color it layer_object_1_0002. Mine-imator Community Project?

So, after putting some thought into how people reacted to my status update, I would really like to see animators, riggers, etc. from this community come together and work on a big project that is story driven and stuff. As always, this would take a large amount of collaboration, and would require some dedication. I already have some story ideas, so hopefully that wouldn't be a problem. However, I understand that something like this requires a decent amount of people to get it done. So I guess I'm asking if anyone would be interested in doing this, because maybe this could help out the reputation of Mine-imator, but also bring people in this community closer and make us a tighter knit community that works with each other more often and stuff. So I hope we can get something going, ideas generating, and begin something that could be amazing.1 point -

Ahhhhh.... good to post something again. So, I found out about this collab and though to myself. Perfect match for my character and whatnot. Though... I didn't animate it until the last second. I only got the run and scenery about 2-3 weeks ago (I think) and did the entire rest today in the span of 2-5 hours. (Plus I didn't know what to do for the last 3 seconds. So you get a long fade. And finally, to top it all off, @WillesFilmz helped me once again with After Effects Editing, not too overedited and not too flashy. I personally thank him for that, and we do a nice job together. This one was kind of a nice change from my usual gloomy and gritty atmospheres. I actually didn't do that much editing than the usual for once if you compare the two. have the brightness slider correspond to the intensity of glowing objects, either that or include a glow slider for each object also maybe provide a slider for glow distance, like how far out you can see something glowing.1 point
