How do I add lightrays?

Question

Okay so I saw alot of people showing their wallpapers and there's something realistic coming from that photo. It's like from the window, the sunrays or idk what is it called, it's like SATISFYING ASF and I dun know how to do it. Can someone help me pls?

Step 2: create everything you want in that wallpaper (but not the light ray)

Step 3: Create a cube, go to resize

Step 4: change cube alpha to 50 or 60

 

oh and make sure to use a gradient texture for the best effect.

It won't be realistic Tho you need to add some gradient (As Brian said)
