The amount of RAM you have on your pc doesn't change how much the program can use.
All windows programs by default are limited to 2GB(32bit) or 3-4GB(64bit I believe).
You can manually break this limit through page files and changing permission flags via the .exe file.

So yeah, Unless you manually change the limit your OS sets, it'll be stuck like this, regardless of your total RAM.

I mean I have a 64-bit OS...when I try to diagnose the memory usage on mine-imator it only uses 2 gigabytes but a 32-bit program should be able to address 4 gigabytes and not just 2......plus also the page file should at least help. also 4 gigabyte max for 32-bit and like 16 million or so for 64-bit....because of how bit values work

It might be that Mine-imator trying to allocate HUGE amounts of memory due to a very big schematic in the project.

This sudden change of needed memory could cause Mine-imator to crash.

Important:

Clicking rapidly while MI is loading schematics or sound files could also cause the program to crash and/or run out of memory.

well it does jump from 100 MB straight to like 400 mb.....which is strange if it needs all that memory then it could use the maximum of 4 gigs for 32-bit addressing and also...I turn on that loading when I leave the room

What i mean is the program suddenly uses all memory for the schematic not leaving a rest for the basic program itself.

You could try setting MI's priority to "Very high" in the taskmanager.

well it is occuring on a project with a entire planet almost to life scale..well to scale as the basic view port will allow me.....it's like a 600 or something by 600 or something by 600 or something crazy

It just can't handle it, you can attempt to split it into different sections and it might work
