How to get Play Once GIF for your Profile

It seems that I'm the first user who use play once GIF for a Cover Photo.

Here are the steps:

1. Make a short animation and render it
2. Download VirtualDub for converting video to GIF
3. File -> Export -> Animated GIF...
4. Select "Play Once" and hit OK
5. Post it in Imgur.com, copy the GIF link and paste it on your Cover Photo

 

Hope that helps a lot for your Cover Photo.

I see you have Camtasia Studio.
I make gifs for my friends a lot if they send me an .mp4 and I export it as a .gif.

It's simple and free* and you never lose quality on a gif (if it isn't too jazzy).

*Free if you know what to do or use the free trial.

You can also use Photoshop to make gifs, although the size is often huuge. But the play once feature is brilliant in virtual dub which is pretty dang nice.

That's the reason why I shouldn't use Photoshop for making a GIF.
