It's confirmed in the new update, there will be .mpg _^(MPEG) exporting, which is compatible with a large amount of players, online services and easy to transfer buffering.

Isn't Quicktime a Mac Player? If so, it should be able to play MPEG encoded files easily.

and i now use vlc instead of media centre cause they removed it in windows 10
