This is how to animate a crowd.

 

  1. Spawn a 5*5 grid of people (can be any size but if it is something tiny it will look unrealistic)
  2. Animate them
  3. Parent them all to a folder
  4. Duplicate the folder and put it next to the original
  5. Edit it a tiny bit
  6. Duplicate both of them so that you have two different variations and make a crowd!

This is a great way to make a massive crowd with like over 200 people, for smaller its less effective as you can easily see the animations being the same

Yeah, but in a battle scene for example when it's really zoomed out and you can see the whole army, or a big mob and you can see the whole mob, it can be effective!
