  1. Hi there! I'm Sibernethy! I started out as a gaming channel on Youtube, bringing a fun, festive, cartoony vibe to lighthearted gaming videos. I was active there for about two years before I moved over recently to a site called Vid.me, where I currently am stationed. I made a trailer for a Minecraft animation called The Jester's Arsenal, a fun little movie showcasing 30 gag/joke weapons to use on all kinds of mobs, both unsuspecting and deserving! The trailer I made shows 3 of them and I'd love to finish this thing and show you guys the other 27. I drew all the gag weapons myself, including the ones you see in the picture above! I also made some of the sound effects in the trailer from scratch. I'm still new to the world of animation and I'm surprised I even produced something like this. With that in mind, I'm aware of a few flaws and minor hiccups, as well as the fact that I haven't learned how to do certain things yet. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being complete masters and 1 being absolute beginner, I'd say I'm at a 2-3 in the grand scheme of things. There's a lot I still need to learn but for a novice, how did this little thing fare? I welcome your feedback but I'll use my discretion as to which feedback to adopt. There's a difference between constructive criticism and being condemned to the fiery depths of Idaho (which really are fiery). If I hear any such sermons being preached on this thread, I'll study your work (and your words) carefully and see how well you can handle being shown up for it. No one likes having their work smeared and spat on, and this lad is no exception, but I absolutely welcome anything you genuinely feel would improve the quality of my work (even if it points out a few flaws).
  2. I was a professional sound engineer from 2012-2015 before I turned it back into a hobby. My specialty is magical sound effects (explosions, spells, etc) but I also do ambient/soundscape design and foley art (taking a microphone outside and recording sounds). There are certain freebies I can contribute from my portfolio but if you want custom work from me, it's a paid service. Some of my sound effects online require purchasing a license to use but many of them are still on my computer, waiting to be used, and I'm willing to lend some of them here upon request. I want credit though! Here's an example of my past work: (on my other Youtube channel)
  3. Make sure you know where all your assets came from before finding out you used one someone didn't tell you was copyrighted and your Youtube video gets slammed for it. This is especially true with music. And to anyone out there who's submitting resources for fellow animators to use, please please please check them and make sure you're not putting the end user at risk because they're copyrighted.
  4. it's fine, there are actually other reasons why I haven't changed it, one of them being that both me and several hundred other people are used to my skin looking the way it does. I'd have to change my banner art and everything just to keep it updated with any new looks I give to my skin. I don't want to open that can of worms. lol
  5. I'm not gonna change it just because you think it's weird. It's my skin.
  6. In the year and a half I've had this skin, you're the first person to say that the mouth is weird. I disagree.
  7. Hi there! So I'm new to the world of animation but I've made a few short clips since starting and I'm really having fun and I want to start making longer videos. One of the projects I started on recently is called The Jester's Arsenal, a collection of gag/joke weapons used in a variety of ways to beat various mobs in combat! I made a short trailer here to showcase three of the items I've done so far. Some of the sound effects were custom made (some, not all, but I do sound engineering as a hobby). For a newbie to the world of animation, how does this little production fare?
  8. Hiya! Sibernethy here. I just recently found this program and it's super easy to use, which is important for a slow idiot like me. I'm super happy to find a forum here. I have to say, the security here is tough. Can't even change my avatar yet! Aside from that, I'm looking forward to being part of the community here.
