I hope to meet many people on my journey, but this is where it starts.

  1. Joining in, its an excellent idea. EDIT :: Cancelled. Something came up. ~Banic
  2. I agree completely with you two. If you are inspired and take your time then an animation, no matter what program, will be good. Now, programs have special extras like Maya with Shape Morphs, , Blender with F-Curves or Cinema4D's special rendering that can help produce a better animation in terms of quality and such. But otherwise dedication and time is key.
  3. Hello There! Terabanic here to explain to you the basics of a fight scene and what is needed to properly animate one. Lets get right to it! Character Setup and Backgrounds When placing and setting up a fight scene you must ask you self : Where is it? Who is in it? What items, weapons, people or objects are in the way. Why are the people fighting? How many people are fighting? Are there teams? Goal of the fight? Is it an actual fight (could be a sport tournament for basketball and the fight could be to win). Take a look at these backgrounds and determine whether or not they are ideal for a fight scene. Compared to : You also have to take in the reason for the brawl. The gym could be better if there was a basketball game and a foul occurred. The reason being the foul and the possibility of 5+ people fighting. The kids bedroom could be a small tussle between two kids. The reason for the fight being the fight for the toy. You also have to take in account the character's : Age. Weight and Height Battle/Fight History. Fighting Style. Emotions (like if his father was killed and he wanted revenge) Weapon and/or power. Take notes of characters from action movies or anime and see about their skills and descriptions to get a better idea. This doesn't apply so much to Minecraft since the characters are blocks but if you aim for realism then look towards these descriptions. Side Notes Fight scenes are not always based on hand to hand or weaponry contact. The fight could be to win a game or beat a team. Its not always people hitting each other. A Fighter's Emotion and Notes In a fight, a important aspect is emotions. The big ones are : Fear Anger Intimidation Envy Hope Explanation : If a fighter is scared then they might be reluctant to fight or might fight to survive. Fear can also play a factor in whether or not the fighter is truly prepared to be a fighter. Anger can cause the fighter to be more aggressive and want to take down the enemy with maximum force. This can also result in the fighter overdoing or abusing his power. Intimidation is similar to fear but you feel like this could be tougher than expected. Weapons usually cause intimidation as well as experience. Envy or jealousy can cause anger and result in an emotional fight. Hope is the will to fight. If you are inspired to fight then you will be more likely to either become victorious or survive. This can also show dedication. Fight Notes Styles show that the fighter has experience as a style is not built just off of teaching but also actions. Stances can play a part in the intimidation as well. Take a look at these and ask yourself which one shows experience and is the most intimidating : 1: 2: 3 : Next is actual fight aspects. Impact and Balance. Impact determines how much damage a attack will do. High Impact can cause broken bones, torn tissue and muscles and serious bruising. This is usually caused with weapons. Medium to low impact can cause slight bruising and possible fractures of bones. This is usually caused with your hands. BUT...... medium and low impact do not matter if you have lost your balance. Balance loss on a medium to low impact can be dangerous because the enemy can counterattack and you won't be ready. This is why shaking a target's balance is key because it can cause many counter attack windows. Example : Compared to : Now, this is not all you need to know to construct a fight scene. This is just a starting point to get you in the mindset of a fight. So keep researching, reenacting and doing fight scenes and eventually you will get much better at it. ~Terabanic
  4. Well, I find it questionable why so many people find Blender difficult. It just takes thought and process. You can't judge an animation that's not finished. So just experiment in Blender. I use Blender and I find it quite easy to learn. But Minecraft wise Mine-imator topples possible competitors. Mine-Imator 0.6.2 had less functionality compared to 1.0.0 so I would say 1.0.0. ~Banic
  5. All those who I have posted art for in the off-topic section have been updated. Rest of you guys are coming soon!

  6. *sniff, sniff* I'm getting emotional. Jk, but great job. Nice impact. ~Banic
  7. Yeah, but I'm posting here and it's still 26.
  8. For some reason every time I post something, I notice that my post counter does not go up by one. +As far as I know, I have more than thirty posts. I don't know what it is but it feels like its been stuck at 26 forever. Server problem possibly? ~Banic
  9. Just got Mine-Imator 1.0.0 working on Linux! I'm so hype!

  10. Hey there, Terabane reporting in. This thread is to point out bugs that people may be encountering and some possible fixes. I have been using computers and building them for quite sometime now, so I know quite a lot, but not everything. Bugs found so far. [Post below if you have one I don't] Project corruption after recent .object import/.particle import. Mouse spazzing out on left click (known). Lagging when turning on loop. Export problems. Crash when duping particles (known). Shader error : Texture problems : Alpha / Transparent areas when shadow testing. General Fixes : 1 - Set the process Mine-Imator.exe to High, downloading Razor Game Booster can also improve speed. DON'T SET IT TO REALTIME, IT WILL PUT MINE-IMATOR IN FRONT OF ALL WINDOWS SERVICES AND PROCESSES. CTRL + ALT + DEL > Start Task Manager > Processes > Mine-Imator, Right Click, Set Priority > High 2 - Download latest drivers and display adapters. This is tedious and told all the time, but can really help improve speed and help startup for Mine-Imator. Next to that, you should also install more RAM or Memory for your computer. These are the estimated System Requirements for Mine-Imator, don't think these are 100% valid however, I am testing on different systems (Windows, Linux, don't have Mac). 3 - System Requirements (Estimate) : OS : XP / Vista / Seven / Eight || Debian Distros are the only ones tested to work for me. CPU : Pentium-3 1.5GHZ+ Video Card : Anything supporting Pixel / Vertex Shader 2+ and Shader Model 3+. Usually anything after 2009. Check your Shader Model with this : GPU-Z 0.7 || Virus Scan for those who are questioning Direct X : Direct X 9.0c+ Nothing earlier. Hard Drive/Disk Space : 30MB 4 - Do basic troubleshooting. Sometimes Windows will tell you if a program can't run. Besides, this the most basic thing. 5 - If you don't have recent Shader try Swift Shader 3.0. Its an emulator for Shader Model 3.0. If all of the general fixes fail, try these specific fixes or reply below and I'll see what I can do. Specific Fixes : Project corruption could occur from Anti-Virus blocking it or memory overloads. Check your antivirus, or check this Virus Scan for Mine-Imator. Memory Overloads are when there is not enough memory to process input or, in this case, saving or overwriting. Try installing more RAM or follow the general fixes. Mouse spazzing out can be fixed by minimizing and maximizing Mine-Imator. Lagging on loop can most likely be a internal error, or an increase in memory you don't have. Try installing more RAM or following the general fixes. Export problems is most likely lag, try changing the codec. I will continue research on this. Crash when duping particles is probably another memory overload. Look at Project corruption or general fixes. *Skipping Shader error, its obvious whats required (SHADERS)*. Texture problems can sometimes be fixed by removing transparency, making the file 16-bit Color or 32-bit Color, or ticking the visible box. For those who are on Linux, I'll make a thread sometime later about Debian testing. There are many more errors out there, so keep telling me what you find and I will try to fix them! Maybe I should be the Tech Moderator, not many post though. Signing off ~Banic.

    How do I debug?

Your using the debugger that came with Microsoft Visual Studio, its used to debug .exe files. Even if you do debug it, you won't be solving your problem. +You don't have a license for it. Secondly, this may make the rest of your computer lag, try this : CTRL + ALT + DEL > Start Task Manager > Processes > Mine-imator.exe > Right Click to Set Priority > High NEVER SET IT TO REALTIME. THIS WILL CRASH WINDOWS. Reason being, this puts Mine-imator.exe in front of every other process and service. If that doesn't work or you don't understand why, reply back.
  12. So is this gonna be like M.U.G.E.N? Or like a handmade game? (Me and my questions) +Wrong section, Off-Topic section move needed. ~Banic
